Sorren

Sorren is a mission-exclusive NPC on Planarcadia, encountered during Adventure Mission Thirty First Dates.

Profile

Sorren was a co-worker of Kuchiba's in the Department of Aberration Defense with a twisted view on love and life itself.

Wanting to find a "perfect, everlasting love," he sought out an unauthorized Imagenist to create this woman of his dreams. Roughly two years prior to the Astral Express reaching Planarcadia.^{[Note 1]} he found Graffi, and asked her to create what he desired. Graffi, in good faith, warned Sorren that the beings she created would only last a month or so, something which did not bother Sorren. Undeterred, he asked for the original artwork of his "dream girl" so he could endlessly recreate her when the previous one dissipated, horrifying Graffi.

Despite Graffi's hesitance, Sapone was created, with each variant starting with a desire to be liked by Sorren, and a natural liking to him in kind. Despite their innocence and virtue towards him, Sorren did not treat the different Sapone's well, yelling at one when she was watching an episode of Please Be Happy. Eventually, the Sapone's worked together over thirty incarnations to find their creator and compile evidence against Sorren, leading the final variant to Graffi.

Empowered by modifications done by Graffi, the now-emotionless Sapone hunted Sorren through the streets of Duomension City, where he was found by the Trailblazer. Sorren attempted to use the Trailblazer as a way to eliminate the Sapone's manifesting around them, but after Sapone showed Trailblazer the truth, they, too, turned on Sorren.

Depending on what choices Trailblazer makes, Sorren is either killed by Sapone, or arrested by Kuchiba and imprisoned for life by the Department of Aberration Defense.

Etymology

修仁江 can be pronounced Shujinkou in Japanese, a pun on 主人公しゅじんこう shujinkou, "protagonist".
