More detail on gameplay

Bizarre Brigade is a roguelike arcade mini-game available at Godfinger Arcade in Zenless Zone Zero. Players must survive through increasingly challenging waves of enemies while collecting upgrades, managing resources, and summoning companions to achieve the highest possible score.

Gameplay

Before the game begins proper, the player must select their Protagonist from a select of Dream Seekers. Each Dream Seeker has unique abilities and additional Dream Seekers can be unlocked through play. The players will then select one of five difficulties which will affect the strength of enemy units, known as Nightmares, and amount of waves. During a wave, enemies will continuously spawn until a certain time has past, then the player will enter the "Rest Phase," during which the player will have access to the Store and additionally has a chance to active the Dream Eater's Alter before so. The game will be completed upon Protagonist's death or after the final wave, with a score given based on player performance.

Meta-Progression

Randomly upon the defeat of a boss Nightmare and some random enemies,[Note 1] the game will drop candy, which will permanently increase the stats of the current Dream Seeker. Each Dream Seeker can initially collect up to 50 candies, with the limit being increased by 5 for each Dream Seeker that has completed difficulty 5. This currently makes the max amount of candies for each Dream Seeker 190.

Notes

  1. The in-game tutorial only specifies that candy can drop on stage bosses, however this isn't the case.
