Dialogue

Icon Dialogue Event Ask the Marcel specialist for updates

At the Marcel workstation near the video store, the tech specialist seems to have something to tell Eous...
(Idle)
Marcel Specialist: The distress signal code... it's finally been fully decrypted!
(Talk to Marcel Specialist)
Marcel Specialist: Remember that mysterious distress signal I mentioned before? The one we recovered from deep within Bootopia.
Icon Dialogue Talk Of course.
Icon Dialogue Talk Looks like we're making progress.
Marcel Specialist: After pushing my team nonstop... ahem, I mean carefully organizing them to handle the analysis and tracking, we finally located where the distress signal came from.
Marcel Specialist: We've determined the signal is coming from a VIP visitor to Bootopia, Quixie, but for some unknown reason, he's unwilling to leave the castle area.
Marcel Specialist: But with Eous's current staff privileges, if we can open up the path to the castle area, we might be able to rescue him!
Icon Dialogue Talk Let Eous give it a shot.
Marcel Specialist: With that said, we shouldn't delay. Does Eous want to go to Bootopia and continue the search?
Icon Dialogue Event Eous is ready.
Marcel Specialist: I'll get things set up and send Eous straight over!!
(Opens event interface)
Icon Dialogue Talk he need [sic] a bit more rest.
Marcel Specialist: Alright, let me know when you're ready.
(Repeat dialogue)
Icon Dialogue Event Tracked Head to Bootopia

Just got word from the tech specialist that he deciphered a mysterious distress code coming from deep inside Bootopia. To rescue whoever sent that message ASAP, I gotta head to Bootopia's castle area and investigate.
(Enter Marcel Bootopia)
Icon Dialogue Event Tracked Head to the castle area

The tourist in need of rescue, Quixie, is somewhere in the castle area. There's no time to lose, I better get over there and make sure he's safe!
(Talk to ???)
Quixie: En nah, en-na-na. (I knew it, reinforcements are finally here... You look kind of familiar, too! But now's not the time to catch up. For the glory of the Bangboo Kingdom, we have to storm the castle at once!)
Icon Dialogue Talk You're Quixie, right?
Icon Dialogue Talk You ate a chip too?
Dorothy: Ehn-ne, ehn-ne. (Eous, you know this visitor? Oh right, I forgot to mention, this here's the Kingdom's Castle District of Bootopia.)
Dorothy: Ehn-na ehn-na. (Before the Hollow appeared, Bangboo visitors would willingly take chips personally made by Master Hollowell, gaining preset memories to fully immerse themselves in their roles and play out a war between the Bangboo Kingdom and the Mech Alliance.)
Dorothy: Nhu-na ehn... (This visitor's being affected by the chip and refuses to leave with me no matter what... Seems like we'll need to resolve his fixation before anything else.)
Quixie: Nhu-na! Ehn-na! (Why are you still wasting time talking? This is urgent—hurry up and open this gate for me!)
Quixie: Nhe-nhu! (The way to open the gate should be hidden somewhere nearby... Come on, let's look for anything strange!)
Icon Dialogue Talk Anything strange...
Icon Dialogue Talk Like what?
Quixie: Nhu ne en na. (The decorations around the castle are all carefully designed, so if there's anything strange, it'll definitely stand out. Just go ahead and look for it.)
Icon Dialogue Event Tracked Look for abnormal decorations near the castle

According to Quixie's analysis, the mechanism to open the castle gates is probably hidden somewhere in the decorations nearby... Time to go look for it!
(Ongoing)
Eous: Ehn-ne... (The mechanism should be around here.)
(Approach Strange Statue)
Quixie: Ehn-ne... (This statue looks weird!)
Quixie: Ehn-ne... Ne! (Should we... twist it?)
(Interact with Strange Statue)
(A short cutscene of the gate opening plays)
Quixie: Nhu ne, ehn-nhe na! (The castle gates have been thrown wide open! For the glory of the Bangboo Kingdom, and to defeat the evil Mech Alliance, we must fight till the very last moment!)
Quixie: ...Nhe nhu, ehn ne na. (...But before we begin the operation, I need to brief you on this mission's target.)
Icon Dialogue Talk Defeat the Mech Alliance?
Icon Dialogue Talk Or something else?
Quixie: Nhu-nha, nhu en. (With our current strength, there's no way we can take on the Mech Alliance and their Mechs... So we have find the Sacred Weapon hidden deep in the castle!)
Icon Dialogue Talk Sounds impressive.
Icon Dialogue Talk So where should we look?
Quixie: Ehn-nhu, nhe-na ehn nhu. (With you and this mage backing us up, I'm sure we can break through their defenses and track down the Sacred Weapon.)
Icon Dialogue Talk A mage?
Icon Dialogue Talk Then I wanna be the brave hero!
Dorothy: Ehn-na, ehn-na-na! (Even though I'm no mage or anything, and I can't do magic... I still think... you're even more amazing than the heroes in those Bangboo cartoons!)
Quixie: Nhu ne! En-ehn ne, nhu na! (Enough with all the chatter! Quiet down, I'm about to lay out our next move... First, we're going into the castle to scope out two spots where the Sacred Weapon might be stashed.)
Icon Dialogue Talk There's no time to waste. Let's go!
Quixie: Nhu-nha, ehn ne na. (Exactly what I was waiting to hear, partner.)
Icon Dialogue Event Tracked Investigate two clue locations in the castle

Accepted Quixie's commission. Time to get into that castle and check out the two spots where the Sacred Weapon might be stashed. Let's go!
(Approach the first clue)
Dorothy: Ehn-ne~ (Let's get rid of these annoying Ethereals~)
Eous: Ehn-ne! (Leave it to me!)
(Interact with the Castle Supply Chest clue)
Quixie: Ehn-nhu! Na-ehn nhu na! (No way! How could there not be!)
Quixie: Nhu-ehn, nhu na-ehn. (Alright, the chest didn't have any clues about the Sacred Weapon, but we didn't come away with nothing.)
Dorothy: Nhe-nhu ehn ne. (Let's move on to the next spot quickly. Who knows, there might be good news right around the corner.)
(Interact with the Letter on the throne)
Dorothy: Nhu ne, ehn-nhu nhe. (This letter... seems to be an important item for this role-playing game.)
Mech Alliance
Declaration of War

This is a declaration by the Mech Alliance to carry out comprehensive disarmament action against the Great Bangboo Kingdom.

Over the past █ standard Bangboo New Era years, the Great Bangboo Kingdom has continuously violated core provisions of the "Post-New Era Bangboo Civilization Coexistence Convention," including but not limited to:

(I) Unilaterally prohibiting Bangboo from piloting Mechs and establishing Bangboo travel standards without our consent.
(II) Spreading rumors such as "True Bangboo only have two legs, two hands, and two ears," and "Mech modification technology will destroy the future of Bangboo civilization."

Therefore, in accordance with the "Bangboo Civilization Ultimate Interpretation Manual" and the spirit of "Supreme Council Resolution No. █," the Mech Alliance issues the following declaration:

We will launch attacks in phases, with the target of ultimately controlling the Bangboo Kingdom castle, until both parties sign the "Protocol for Promoting Mech Technology Development" once again.

Finally, we pay tribute to the Supreme Leader of Roscaelifer, the All-Knowing and All-Powerful Mother, the Wellspring of Bangboo Wisdom, and the Original Architect of Bangboo Civilization, Lady Sunbringer.
Dorothy: Ehn-na, ennuh. (This letter describes the story background of the castle roleplay scenario: The Mech Alliance launched a war against the decaying, archaic kingdom to advance their Bangboo Mech technology.)
Quixie: ...Ehn-na! Ehn-nhe-nu! (...You can't speak ill of the Bangboo Kingdom. We just can't accept Bangboo going out riding those weird-looking mechs.)
Quixie: Ehn-nah, ehn-nah-nah. (Bangboo are perfect beings designed by Lady Sunbringer. Our appearance meets the aesthetic standards of every species. But the Bangboo of the Mech Alliance only care about becoming bigger and stronger, abandoning the natural rounded form we were born with.)
Icon Dialogue Talk That's some seriously rigorous worldbuilding.
Icon Dialogue Talk So what's the move?
Quixie: Nhe-nhu ehn na. (Things are looking grim. The Mech Alliance has seized the castle, so we need to locate the Sacred Weapon fast... Either way, let's get out of here first!)
Icon Dialogue Event Tracked Search for clues higher up in the castle

Even though I didn't find the Sacred Weapon at the first two locations, Quixie mentioned there's still the upper levels of the castle to search... I better get there ASAP!
(Ongoing)
Quixie: Ehn-ne! (Brave heroes, the top of the castle awaits exploration!)
Quixie: Ehn-ne... (No Bangboos here afraid of heights, right?)
(Interact with ???)
???: Ehn-ne... (Oh legendary heroes...)
???: Ehn-ne... (I left everything in the cage deep underwater.)
???: Ehn-ne... (Go and seek them out... For power is what makes a king.)
Quixie: Ehn-nhe, nha na-en! (It's a message from His Majesty! Let me think... where would they be keeping His Majesty right now...)
Quixie: Nhe-nhu! Ehn-ne, en-na ne. (Hold on, I just thought of something... that water prison we've never dared to visit! It's a dangerous place. Partner, you should get prepared for the rescue first, then come find me and we'll set out together.)
Icon Dialogue Event Tracked Meet up with Knightboo

From what I've uncovered earlier, it seems there are still Bangboo locked up in the castle's water dungeon... Once I'm ready for combat, I gotta find Knight Quixie and we'll head to the water dungeon together!
(Idle)
Quixie: Nhu-nha! (I think... we have to go to the water dungeon!)
Dorothy: Nhe-nha... (But... it's dangerous...)
(Talk to Quixie)
Quixie: Ehn-nhu, ehn-ne, en na-ehn na. (Comrade, you're here! Up ahead is the castle's water dungeon. They used it to lock up dangerous criminals back in the day. The interior's heavily guarded. Are you ready?)
Icon Dialogue Talk I'll keep my promise.
Icon Dialogue Talk That's exactly why I'm here.
Quixie: Nhu-nhe na ne, ehn-nu. (There's no time to waste. For the glory of the Bangboo Kingdom, onwards!)
Icon Dialogue Event Tracked Head deeper into the water dungeon

The water dungeon's deep in the castle. There's no time to waste. I gotta move out, now.
(Talk to The King)
The King: Ehn-nhu, ehn-nha en ne! (You... you guys are from the amusement island's search and rescue team?! And Dorothy, thank goodness you're okay!)
Icon Dialogue Talk You're not affected!
Icon Dialogue Talk Finally, we can talk like normal.
The King: Nhu-nha, ehn na. (I'm not sure what you're talking about... but I work in the castle exploration zone, playing the role of a king held captive by rebels. Then the Hollow disaster happened, and I ended up genuinely stuck here.)
Dorothy: Nhe-nha, ehn-nu. (It's kind of complicated, let me explain...)
You explain everything that happened along the way to the Bangboo in front of you...
The King: Nhe-nhu... (Sounds like a complicated situation. In any case, to earn a good review from the visitor, you need to find the Sacred Weapon in the castle exploration area, right?)
Icon Dialogue Talk Exactly!
Icon Dialogue Talk Got any ideas?
The King: Ehn-nhe, ehn-nhe-nhe. (First of all, the Sacred Weapon is really just a completion reward Master Hollowell made for the castle game, but it's been a long time since any Bangboo visitor has managed to obtain it.)
Icon Dialogue Talk Hollowell again...
Icon Dialogue Talk Got any more intel?
The King: Nhu ne, en, nhu ne ne. (Maybe Master Hollowell already escaped. Anyway, I don't know where Master Hollowell hid this round's Sacred Weapon. You'll have to go look for it yourselves.)
The King: Nhu-na, ehn ne na. (I can give you guys this — it's a digital model treasure map that records the location of the Sacred Weapon!)
You obtain an electronic digital model...
Quixie: Nhu ne-ehn na... (Your Majesty, with this treasure map, we'll definitely be able to... Hm? The coordinates are partially damaged, or maybe I'm just not learned enough to read it...)
The King: Nhu-ehn ne, ehn na! (Oh no! This treasure map's been affected by the Hollow, one section's totally corrupted... We might need a specialist to fix it. Eous, you better rely on the remaining treasure maps for now!)
Icon Dialogue Talk Alright.
Icon Dialogue Talk I'll make good use of the treasure maps.
The King: Ehn-ne! (Hurry up and go! I wanna leave Bootopia first and start on repairs.)
(New Companion: Knightboo)

Icon Dialogue Event Tracked Evacuate from Bootopia
(Optional) Keep exploring Bootopia

Rescued a staff Bangboo playing a "king" from the water dungeon and snagged a crucial tool for tracking down the Sacred Weapon from him: a treasure map! But thanks to the Hollow's interference, one of the maps got corrupted... Looks like I'll need to head back to the video store area and hit up the tech specialist to sort this out.
(Exit Bootopia)
Icon Dialogue Event Tracked Return to Sixth Street and report the situation to the Marcel specialist

I gotta go to the video store area and find the tech specialist waiting at Marcel's workstation. I need to ask him if there's any way to restore the treasure map.
(Talk to Marcel Specialist)
Marcel Specialist: Eous, about that mysterious distress signal... how are things progressing so far?
Icon Dialogue Talk Eous found Quixie.
Icon Dialogue Talk And got a treasure map.
Marcel Specialist: ...Hold up, that's a lot to unpack — I need to hear the full story from the top!
You carefully explain to the Specialist where the treasure map came from...
Marcel Specialist: So you're saying Quixie, this Bangboo visitor, was also affected by a chip and won't leave with you guys until it finds some sacred weapon hidden in the castle area...
Marcel Specialist: So Eous is planning to use the treasure map to explore the island at night until he finds the sacred weapon! That way, he should be able to get a positive reviews from Quixie and score that promotion with a nice raise!
Icon Dialogue Talk Then I can fire myself...
Icon Dialogue Talk And give myself some severance pay...
Marcel Specialist: ...Right, right! The day Eous gets his freedom back is getting closer and closer.
Marcel Specialist: One of the treasure maps you got has some corrupted data that needs fixing — just leave it to me! As for the other intact maps, Eous can take them to the island first and scope out the treasure locations.
Marcel Specialist: I'll let you know the moment the treasure map's been fixed.
Marcel Specialist: Do you want to head back to Bootopia and start exploring?
Icon Dialogue Event Let's go!
Icon Dialogue Talk I need more time to prepare.
(Repeat dialogue)
Icon Dialogue Event Tracked Head to Bootopia

I handed over the damaged treasure map to the tech specialist. While he's restoring it, I can use other intact treasure maps to head to Bootopia and find the location of the Sacred Weapon.
(Enter Bootopia)
Icon Dialogue Event Tracked Investigate treasure map (I)

First I gotta check the marker on the map to confirm the direction, then I can head to the first location where the Sacred Weapon might be!
(Open Island Supply Box)
Eous: Nhu-nha... ehn-nhu, nhe na! (The chest... doesn't have any sacred weapons... what a shame! But there are some useful supplies inside, and... a thank-you letter left by a visitor)

Thank You Letter

First off, thank you so much, Master Hollowell!

Last week, I heard my little one was playing at the amusement island when they used their thruster to fly up to the top of the castle tower. Then they accidentally broke the thruster and got stuck up there, unable to get down...
Thankfully, you came to the rescue! Not only did you save them, but you also installed a time-limiter system on their thruster! Now I don't have to worry about them spending all day flying around in the sky.

I heard you don't accept gifts or letters from visitors, so I had my little one leave this thank you letter here, hoping you'd see it while inspecting the facilities.

Also: My little one really wants to take a photo with you next time, but since you're much taller than a Bangboo, they'll be bringing a stool along to get in the frame with you.

If you see a little Bangboo dashing toward you with a stool, please don't be alarmed!

Thank you again!
Eous: Nhu-nha! (The chest has a note from another staff member.)
