Jal is an NPC located in Sixth Street. She is an employee of 404 Error.
Profile
Jal is a mixologist working at the Decibel Bar. Before she was a mixologist, she was a fan of Lady Cersea during the height of the latter's career. Sometime later, Jal began working at 404 Error and encountered Cersea again, who now went by Cecilia.
She is good friends with her waitress coworker Lo, and covers for Lo's shifts during Satellite performances.
Idle Quotes
- (With Lo - 12AM)
- Jal: What's wrong? Tell me about it.
Dialogue
- Jal can only be talked to after completing Encore for an Old Dream.
- (Talk to Jal - 6AM)
- Jal: Hey there, want a Nitro-Fuel?
I don't do drinks.
I'd like to hear a story.- Jal: Heh, so you've got those romantic, unrealistic ideas about mixologists too?
Hope I'm not bothering you.- Jal: Did you? Or didn't you? Relax, I really don't mind. After all, it's part of a mixologist's job, and I've long since gotten used to it.
- Jal: Hmm... You here for the show too, right? Then you're probably into idol stories and stuff.
- Jal: Back when this story started, I wasn't a mixologist yet, and the protagonist was still shining bright on stage. Ah, those were the days... I was just like those fervent fans, unconsciously drawn to someone's warmth, happily lost in it...
- Jal: But she wasn't the moon; she was a star on the verge of falling.
- Jal: She chose to leave the stage and return to an ordinary life. She'd come here, just like you, to keep me company and chat with me about anything and everything, savoring stories alongside the music.
- Jal: Why did she walk away? The reason doesn't really matter anymore. She lit up some people's lives, then faded into the night sky. Knowing that much is enough.
- Jal: Her falling trajectory vanished in a flash, leaving not even a ripple behind.
- Jal: Like a shooting star — brilliant, but fleeting.
Shooting stars do burn out quick.
But some will remember that streak across the sky.- Jal: ...Maybe. You've probably got plenty of stories of your own. So, how does this one taste to you?
Sweet.
Sour.
Sweet and tangy.- Jal: ...You're the first person to put it that way. Come grab a drink next time. I'll throw in a bad joke on the house.
- (Talk to Jal - 12PM)
- Jal: Welcome, Manager of Random Play. Care for another story today?
So you do know me.- Jal: We are on the same street, after all... Maybe keep a closer eye on your dear neighbors, Manager? Just kidding. This place has been closed for so long that it's only natural you wouldn't know us well.
- Jal: But I've always been curious about you, and Random Play is clearly not just some ordinary video store... Not that it really matters — this counter is already overflowing with all the odd people and stories from Sixth Street.
- Jal: What I'm curious about is how you see idols. After all, idols and videotapes are like two sides of the same coin: live performances versus recorded footage, group events versus personal experiences. They seem worlds apart, yet there's this blurred line where they become one and the same.
- Jal: I'm looking forward to hearing your answer.
They all burn with passion.
They can all bring hope.
They all carry people's ideals.- Jal: So basically, you don't care about the content and the form. As long as it gives people the strength to keep pushing forward, that's enough?
- Jal: That's a very upbeat way to look at things... I just hope some of my regulars — the guys who escape reality through idols and Nitro-Fuel — can get that through their heads.
With Lo
- (Talk to Lo and Jal - 12AM)
- Lo: Jal, you've known Cecilia for so long — you must know all her little secrets, right?
- Jal: What secrets could she possibly have? I know quite a few of yours though.
- Lo: You're so stingy, Jal~
- Jal: It's not like she'd hide it on purpose. If you're curious, just go ask her yourself, yeah?
- Jal: Actually... I don't know all that much either. After that disaster, Cecilia never really bounced back and hardly showed herself.
- Jal: Even so, when I found out she was stepping away from the stage, I still couldn't accept it.
- Jal: She was born for the stage. Once she's under the spotlight, no one can take their eyes off her.
- Lo: I know, I know! Miss Cecilia's got way more star power than any idol out there!
- Lo: But I've never seen her perform live... What a pity!
- (Talk to Lo and Jal after a Satellite performance - 12AM)
- Lo: The Bangboo idol group is getting more and more popular, and my schedule keeps clashing with their shows. If it goes on like this, I really can't keep my job at 404, wah...
- Jal: Maybe try requesting a change to your shift?
- Lo: No way. I absolutely can't let Miss Cecilia find out I'm scared of Bangboo. That would be way too embarrassing...
- Jal: Huh? But it's fine if I know that?
- Lo: We're so close, Jal. There's no way I could keep it from you even if I tried.
- Lo: You're the best, Jal, so you'll cover my shifts for sure~ I'll bring you some merch from the Magic Girls~
- Jal: I can help out, but only during the Bangboo idol group's shows.
- Jal: And don't misunderstand — I'm not doing this for the merch.
