Video Store

Video Store, also known as Random Play, is an Area in Zenless Zone Zero. It is a video rental store operated by the sibling duo Wise and Belle, the protagonists of the game, and serves as both their living accommodation and main base of operations.

Overview

Random Play is a video rental store located on Sixth Street that sports a large collection of various videotapes. Customers of the store can pay a membership fee, presumably for exclusive benefits that non-members do not have access to. Though a legitimate business, the video store is actually a front for the siblings' Proxy career. Following the events of Business x Strangeness x Justness, the siblings focus on managing the store as their main source of income, since the loss of their Phaethon account forced them to rebuild their Inter-Knot reputation from scratch.^[1]

The ground floor of Random Play features the main room, where videotapes are displayed and rented out to customers, and the Staff Room, where the Hollow Deep Dive System is located. Only people who are privy to the siblings' secret identity as Phaethon, such as Shepherd and the majority of the playable characters, are allowed in the Staff Room.^[2] The ground floor also has an exterior Parking Lot. The second floor features the player's bedroom, which is unique to whichever sibling was picked as the protagonist as well as a bathroom next to Wise's bedroom and a ladder that leads to an unknown room or area.

Trivia

• The room of the player's sibling will be open at random, allowing the player to go in and interact with various objects.
• Eous can be seen charging in the player's room occasionally.
• All three Bangboo (6, 18, and Eous) have "RANDOM PLAY STAFF" written on their clothes, despite the fact that Eous having the Random Play branding is counterproductive to Phaethon's efforts to remain anonymous as illegal Proxies.
• During some of Rina's trust events, an employee in a Random Play uniform can be seen outside of Richard Teamilk in Lumina Square.
