No. 4412 is an event-exclusive NPC that appears during The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault.

Profile

No. 4412 is an Exploreboo Bangboo with exceptional intelligence and determination. It once belonged to the White Star Institute and was assigned to work with Alowyn Mystik, but it escaped with its memories intact after the Arpeggio Fault investigation was shut down. Two years later, when it learned that the Arpeggio Fault exploration plan was being reinstated, it returned to Scott Outpost, intent on discovering what happened to Alowyn.^[1]

During the events of The Mystery of Arpeggio Fault, No. 4412 helps the Proxy and Soldier 11 investigate the past, revealing that Alowyn was a rebel spy who abandoned her original mission to rescue the Institute researchers when they were attacked by a dangerous Ethereal. After learning about the fate of Alowyn, No. 4412 is willing to have its memory wiped and be disposed of as per protocol, but Ray tells it of the Institute's offer: continue working with them and be able to keep its memory. Despite Alowyn's wishes for No. 4412 to forget her and find its own meaning in life, No. 4412 decides that the name and the memories she gave are more important, and decides to stay with the Institute.^[2]
