Dodoco's Blow-Up-Erative Bomb-Nanza/Story

Last updated 2025-10-12

Open-World Dialogue

Valerina

Dialogue Set #1

Available during the first interaction

Valerina: Whoa! The Cat Savior and Paimon the Cat Whisperer! I can't believe you actually came!
Paimon: Huh? What did you just call us?
Icon Dialogue Talk White That sounds familiar...
Icon Dialogue Talk White That's a new one to me...
Paimon: Umm... Have we met somewhere before?
Valerina: Haha! I can't believe the Cat Whisperer still remembers me! You go, Valerina!
Valerina: Let's save the catching up for later — for now, how about trying my newly sponsored game? This one's that's [sic] kept me grinning for a whole week...
Valerina: Dodoco's Blow-Up-Erative Bomb-Nanza!
Paimon: Whoa! So many Dodocos!
Icon Dialogue Talk White And they're all familiar faces.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Well, the prototype's pretty hard to miss!
Valerina: Look, Cat Savior... Hehe, or perhaps I should say — our glittering, admirable, Honorary Knight!
Valerina: This Dodoco doll was designed in your image!
Paimon: She's right! Wow, right down to the colors and patterns... Ehe, it's a spitting image of you, (‍Traveler‍)!
Valerina: In this game, Sparky Dodoco, Flashy Dodoco, Knightly Dodoco, and Witchy Dodoco have to join forces, and use explosives to blast their never-seen-before opponents away...
Valerina: I'm only responsible for the operation and sponsorship of the game, so I'm not really clear on its development. These enemies are just as mysterious to me as they are to you...
Valerina: But I'm sure that even if we meet in real life, the amazing Dodocos will definitely send them flying back to whence they came!
Paimon: Of course! No monster can stand against Klee and her best buddy Dodoco!
Icon Dialogue Talk White Well, let's give it a try then!
Icon Dialogue Talk White A new Dodoco game!
Valerina: Hehe, I'm sure you'll have a blast!

Dialogue Set #2

Available during subsequent interactions

Valerina: How about it, Cat Savior and Cat Whisperer? You find Dodocos fuzzy, fluffy, bouncy, and absolutely positively huggable too, don't you?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Another Dodoco fan joins the party, eh?
Valerina: Absolutely! My current goal is to support Ematol and spread the word of the Spark Knight's might. And, of course, that of Dodoco's cuteness!
Valerina: That's why I'm planning to invest ten million Mora to try and mass-produce this tabletop game to make it more popular.
Paimon: ...Sorry, HOW much Mora now!? Wow, you're no ordinary fan, that's for sure...
Valerina: But we'll have to wait until the game's trial is over to collect feedback from all our players.
Valerina: Then, with further refinements by the actual developer, Ematol, we'll make sure it's easy to pick up and fun for everyone!
Icon Dialogue Talk White About the Dodocos and their in-game opponents...
Paimon: Yeah, Paimon's curious, too. Just where did Ematol get her inspiration?
Paimon: They're based on Klee, Kaeya, Lisa, and (‍Traveler‍). Heehee, Paimon feels at home just looking at 'em!
Valerina: Well, Ematol's the developer here...
Valerina: So I asked her a similar question, and her answer was very convincing!
Valerina: "(‍Traveler‍), Sir Kaeya, and Ms. Lisa are all renowned Mondstadters, as well as the pillars of the Knights of Favonius!"
Valerina: You've all fought alongside the Spark Knight for many, many years... So, naturally, it's about time you made your tabletop debut!
Valerina: A hero's story is not a one-man show, but a collective symphony of willpower, courage, and wisdom!
Valerina: So, even while we tell the story of the Spark Knight, her companions need to all get the spotlight they deserve!
Icon Dialogue Talk White Klee's got other friends besides us, though.
Valerina: I know! But these are just the ones we have for the trial. We've got plans for Master Jean, the Helper in White, Mr. Albedo, Miss Amber, Miss Eula... The list goes on and on and on.
Paimon: Ooh, Paimon gets a Dodoco too!
Icon Dialogue Talk White Wild Shape: Paimodoco!
Valerina: As for the opponents this time, they were all designed by Ematol based on intel that the expedition team sent back.
Valerina: I think she said she referenced the monsters and foes they found in Nod-Krai...
Valerina: Well, it's a mysterious, faraway place that none of us have been to. That's why it's perfect as the setting for an adventure!
Valerina: In the future, who knows? Dodoco's story may evolve into... an adventure in another world, maybe?
Valerina: I'm gonna sponsor this as best I can, and witness the grand rise of this tabletop game!
Icon Dialogue Talk White The last time we met was...
Paimon: And you even called Paimon "Cat Whisperer," which rings a bell...
Valerina: Well, it has been a while.
Valerina: Last we met, I'd run into some trouble while running a stray cat shelter... but thanks to your help and Miss Rosaria's support, we pulled through!
Valerina: After learning a few tricks from you, Cat Whisperer, the cats stopped disliking me, and everything went according to plan!
Valerina: But not long after the shelter's trial run began, I got recruited by an old friend's team for a long adventure.
Valerina: And thank the winds I did, because our team ran into lots of strange puzzles during said adventure. If I hadn't been there, someone might've gotten hurt...
Valerina: I only just returned to Mondstadt. Now I'm tidying things up to reopen the shelter and get things up and running again.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Ah, I remember!
Paimon: You ran the Furball Fortress, right?
Valerina: That's the one!
Valerina: Snowball, Bunny, Dustball, and Dopey all miss you! If you have time, come visit us!
Valerina: And allow me to ask, how has Sir Pouncelot been?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Splendid, of course.
Paimon: Don't worry, Valerina! Sir Pouncelot's got more than enough to eat, and every day is an easy-breezy day!
Icon Dialogue Talk White He's a very happy cat.
Paimon: Oh, come to think of it, Paimon hasn't seen Sir Pouncelot in a while... Next time we're back in the Realm Within, she'll go play with him!
Valerina: That's wonderful! Let me think... What sort of dessert should I make? Hmm... Regardless, I'll trust you two to get it to him!
Icon Dialogue Talk White I'm afraid that doesn't ring any bells...
Valerina: Well, that's fine! You two must be terribly busy all the time. You probably see more strangers every week than I'd see in three years.
Valerina: If I didn't leave an impression, that just means I wasn't impressive enough. I'll just have to do my best to become a famous adventurer worth remembering!
Valerina: Next time we meet, I'll make sure you remember me instantly — along with all the wonderful moments we've shared!
Icon Dialogue Talk White Let's talk more later!
Paimon: We'll come back, don't you worry!
Valerina: Alrighty! I'll be right here, waiting for you!

Ematol and Phonia

Ematol: Feeling better, Phonia?
Phonia: My head doesn't hurt as much... I suppose eating sweets does help...
Phonia: Ematol... Thank you.
Ematol: What are you thanking me for!? No need to be so formal!
Ematol: You need to get better and get back to work. Everyone's waiting for you!
Icon Dialogue Talk White Afternoon tea? Do you have space for one more?
Ematol: Honorary Knight!
Phonia: (‍Sir‍/Lady‍) (‍Traveler‍)...
Icon Dialogue Talk White Why do you look upset?
Phonia: ...It's been a while, but seeing you still makes me feel guilty.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Oh, you mean that incident from before...
Ematol: Umm... Honorary Knight, are you sure you want to talk about that...?
Ematol: Just thinking about the Durin incident still sends shivers down my spine... so...
Icon Dialogue Talk White I'm sure Phonia's ready to talk.
Phonia: ...That's right. I can't run from this.
Phonia: Please allow me to report the situation to you, (‍Sir‍/Lady‍) Honorary Knight.
Phonia: During the incident, the Acting Grand Master exposed the fact that Durin had influenced my mind, and ordered the knights to escort me back to headquarters immediately...
Phonia: In my confinement cell, I heard the sound of fireworks coming from outside, followed by a strange burst of... something.
Phonia: It was like... Waking up from an eerie dream, and having your mind suddenly cleared.
Phonia: Only then did I slowly realize the terrible things I'd done...
Phonia: Afterwards, Captain Albedo and Miss Sucrose made me some soothing potions, and I've since gradually recovered from all the negative aftereffects of Durin's influence.
Phonia: Captain Albedo treated the other affected knights with the same method, and soon, we returned to normal.
Phonia: After confirming that I was alright, the Acting Grand Master gave me an extended vacation. She probably hoped I'd recover during this time.
Phonia: But even after my vacation ended, I've still been struggling with stress. So... I won't be able to return to my post for the time being.
Ematol: Nobody blames you for this, Phonia. After all, who could've predicted that Durin would... you know...
Icon Dialogue Talk White You were a victim in all that.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Being extra vigilant next time couldn't hurt.
Ematol: *sigh*... Back then, I didn't even realize something was wrong.
Ematol: I was thinking about how Phonia got transferred to the 7th Company and was part of a major operation... and whether we should hold a banquet to celebrate.
Ematol: I didn't expect things to turn out like this...
Phonia: Looking back now, Durin's influence likely came into play during the seventh round of extreme-cold environment gear testing.
Phonia: During the test, I came too close to its still-dangerous remains, and when I returned, I felt sick and weak... I was on the verge of fainting while writing my report.
Phonia: Captain Albedo must have realized from reading my substandard report that I'd been affected.
Phonia: That's why he transferred me to the 7th Company to take part in the simulation once my condition had stabilized somewhat.
Phonia: Perhaps it was because I was in that important role that Durin marked me as a key informant then.
Icon Dialogue Talk White So wouldn't the results of the simulation have been...
Icon Dialogue Talk White So Durin adopted the all-new strategies from that simulation...
Phonia: Well, I did give it my all, so yes, I did come up with some new tactics.
Phonia: But please don't worry, my tactical knowledge hasn't compromised Mondstadt's defenses in any way.
Phonia: After looking back on things more carefully, I realized that Captain Albedo and the Acting Grand Master, through their own clever methods, had been controlling the information that Durin was able to glean from me...
Phonia: They were thus able to control Durin's plan of attack in reverse, to a certain extent.
Ematol: Controlling Durin in reverse... Sounds like they were working real magic...
Phonia: Every combat strategy report I submitted was reviewed jointly by the Acting Grand Master and trusted Captains to determine whether they would be adopted.
Phonia: Unaware that his informant had been compromised, Durin believed the adopted strategy would shape the Knights' latest defensive tactics.
Phonia: But in reality, this strategy was nothing more than bait.
Ematol: Ooh, so that's how it was!
Ematol: No wonder so many of our colleagues mentioned training in "new tactics" — only for us to use a completely different plan during our defensive battle...
Icon Dialogue Talk White So you took advantage of the information being leaked...
Icon Dialogue Talk White ...To lure the enemy into doing something predictable.
Phonia: That's right. During the battle, the main attacking force of monsters behaved just as the Knights foresaw — they moved to counter the strategy they thought we would use.
Phonia: But in the end, that allowed the Knights to take the initiative, minimizing the damage to our city and citizens.
Phonia: Still, I can't afford to be complacent. Even intentionally leaked intel might trigger unexpected reactions from the monsters around Mondstadt.
Phonia: Since recovering, I've run 830 simulations based on Durin's intel and had Ematol deliver the analyses to Captain Albedo...
Ematol: But he assured me that the dust had settled, and there was nothing we needed to worry about.
Ematol: So, Phonia! Your top priority right now is to rest up, get better, and come back to us as soon as possible!
Icon Dialogue Talk White That's right. There's nothing to worry about now.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Albedo took care of everything.
Phonia: I see...
Phonia: Then I'll write a detailed report based on my own experience to serve as a warning to those who come after us.
Phonia: I hope the other knights will take what happened to me to heart and take care out in the wild... Last thing we want is more of us falling under the control of strange forces...
Phonia: Maybe we can develop this into some sort of specialized discipline? Like... "Psychic Disruption and Prevention"?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Let's talk about something more relaxing, then.
Ematol: Mhm! When you eat desserts, the conversation should be just as sweet!
Ematol: Phonia and I made a new friend recently. She's a very passionate adventurer!
Ematol: She plans to reopen her shelter for stray animals. Maybe you'll be able to visit her soon.
Ematol: If you don't mind, shall we visit her together, Honorary Knight?
Ematol: I'm curious to see what kind of cats you'd be fond of!
Ematol: Also — big news! I've revamped Dodoco's Boom-Bastic Escapades into a cooperative adventure game: Dodoco's Blow-Up-Erative Bomb-Nanza!
Ematol: When I played it with my new friend, we had loads of fun! I want to promote the game, so I've asked her to help with that.
Ematol: The game table is in the garden near the Knights of Favonius headquarters. Feel free to check it out whenever you're free!
Icon Dialogue Talk White Sounds great!
Icon Dialogue Talk White I'll definitely give it a try!
Ematol: Phonia, once you're feeling better, let's invite your partner from the 7th Company. We can try out the game together!
Ematol: I remember Captain Albedo saying that once the basic framework of their reconnaissance system is in place, your duties will be fully transferred to her — and you'll be transferred back here...
Ematol: It's going to be hard work for her, so let's make up for it in advance by having fun!
Phonia: Alright. I think she has a few months until her transfer to Dornman Port, so she'll probably have some free time.
Phonia: And it's probably time for me to do something to lift my mood, anyways.
Icon Dialogue Talk White (Best not to bother them further...)
