Valerina: Honorary Knight, Cat Whisperer Paimon, are you two tired? Would you like something to eat or drink? Or perhaps a massage to relax your muscles?

Never mind that for now. Let's talk business...

Paimon: That's right! It can't have been cheap setting up this Furball Fortress. Even Paimon knows that...

Paimon: If there's a problem with the finances, don't hesitate to let us know and we'll figure something out!

Valerina: Ah, so that's what you were concerned about... Well, we've nothing to worry about as far as Mora is concerned.

Valerina: My parents are both merchants. Not super rich, but they do support me with "operational funds" each month, so running the Fortress is no big deal at all.

Valerina: I might look like a stiff breeze could blow me away, but I was the "riddle solver" in my adventuring team back when I was with the Adventurers' Guild.

Valerina: Quite often my entire team relied on my intelligence to overcome the strange mechanisms in the ruins and get us to the treasure.

Valerina: That's to say, I didn't come cheap if anyone wanted to hire me as a freelance adventurer. I used to take on quite a bit of work, too. Sometimes I'd even complete over ten missions in a month.

Valerina: In fact, the Mora I earned on my own has surpassed the "operational funds" my parents provide me with. At this point, I have enough to handle my daily expenses for a lifetime and then some.

Valerina: I don't really have any hobbies, and now the money that was just sitting in my savings is being used to help cats today, and tomorrow, it might help more animals still. That works out just as it should, don't you think?

Paimon: Wow, you're... certainly wealthy beyond Paimon's expectations... Hang on, what do you mean "That works out just as it should"?

Valerina: Hmm. How should I put this... I've been part of many adventuring teams in my time, and I've dealt with all sorts of animal-loving people and pets.

Valerina: I've also met some compassionate souls asking others... and even the Knights of Favonius or the Church to adopt stray animals.

Valerina: This, while they themselves don't have any money beyond that needed to support themselves.

Valerina: Some good souls with the means, on the other hand, donate enough Mora to take care of one or two stray cats. They're good role models.

Valerina: I mean, it's good to have sympathy, but I don't really like asking others to do things that they... well, aren't even responsible for in the first place, you know, just because of your own feelings.

Valerina: That's why solving this problem is a job for someone who's both willing and rich, like me — I'll pay, and I'll do my part!

Valerina: Of course, I'll stop bothering you two and Ms. Rosaria once I've learned how to get along with cats!

Paimon: Huh. Y'know what, Valerina? That's kinda cool! Paimon didn't know that you had this side to you.

Paimon: Those stray cats are real lucky to have met someone like you. Paimon sure hopes that the Furball Fortress will help more cats in the future!

Valerina: Hahaha, such wonderful praise from the Honorary Knight and Cat Whisperer Paimon...! Ah, now I'm getting really pumped up again!

Valerina: I'll keep working at it. I will learn how to communicate with cats and manage the Fortress as best I can!

Food and drinks?

Paimon: Huh, did you set up a kitchen in here, Valerina? Paimon hasn't seen one.

Paimon: And what about the chef? Or are you gonna step up to the plate?

Valerina: As you can see, while this place isn't officially open yet, some guests still stay here for long periods of time.

Valerina: And I wouldn't say making them go out and buy food and drinks themselves is an ideal situation.

Valerina: As such, I've set things up with Sara at Good Hunter so that if our guests have requests for takeout, they can leave them with me. Then, Ms. Rosaria or I will put the order in at Good Hunter.

Valerina: I'm not running this place to make a profit, so the prices for ordering takeout will be the same as getting it straight from the restaurant.

Paimon: W—Wait, you're not even charging them for the delivery fee?

Paimon: I'm sure our guests will be thrilled to be able enjoy delicious food at the original price while playing with cats!

Valerina: Right? Even you think it's a great idea, don't ya, Cat Whisperer?

Valerina: Once the Fortress officially opens, this can be one of its selling points!

Valerina: The more people we attract, the more likely the cats are to find a suitable owner. Once the number of visitors and the rate at which I adopt cats reaches a nice balance, I'll consider expanding the scale of our operations.

Valerina: Once that happens, we'll be able to add a management area, and areas in which other stray animals can be adopted...

Valerina: Though that's an issue I'll have to plan out in the future. Just leave the business operations and data gathering to me. Don't sweat that stuff!

Valerina: Hah, not as busy as you, I expect! Why, I should watch the two of you work more if anything!

Valerina: Whoa! The Cat Savior and Paimon the Cat Whisperer! I can't believe you actually came!

Paimon: Huh? What did you just call us?

That sounds familiar...

That's a new one to me...

Paimon: Umm... Have we met somewhere before?

Valerina: Haha! I can't believe the Cat Whisperer still remembers me! You go, Valerina!

Valerina: Let's save the catching up for later — for now, how about trying my newly sponsored game? This one's that's [sic] kept me grinning for a whole week...

Valerina: Dodoco's Blow-Up-Erative Bomb-Nanza!

Paimon: Whoa! So many Dodocos!

And they're all familiar faces.

Well, the prototype's pretty hard to miss!

Valerina: Look, Cat Savior... Hehe, or perhaps I should say — our glittering, admirable, Honorary Knight!

Valerina: This Dodoco doll was designed in your image!

Paimon: She's right! Wow, right down to the colors and patterns... Ehe, it's a spitting image of you, (‍‍)!

Valerina: In this game, Sparky Dodoco, Flashy Dodoco, Knightly Dodoco, and Witchy Dodoco have to join forces, and use explosives to blast their never-seen-before opponents away...

Valerina: I'm only responsible for the operation and sponsorship of the game, so I'm not really clear on its development. These enemies are just as mysterious to me as they are to you...

Valerina: But I'm sure that even if we meet in real life, the amazing Dodocos will definitely send them flying back to whence they came!

Paimon: Of course! No monster can stand against Klee and her best buddy Dodoco!

Valerina: How about it, Cat Savior and Cat Whisperer? You find Dodocos fuzzy, fluffy, bouncy, and absolutely positively huggable too, don't you?

Another Dodoco fan joins the party, eh?

Valerina: Absolutely! My current goal is to support Ematol and spread the word of the Spark Knight's might. And, of course, that of Dodoco's cuteness!

Valerina: That's why I'm planning to invest ten million Mora to try and mass-produce this tabletop game to make it more popular.

Paimon: ...Sorry, HOW much Mora now!? Wow, you're no ordinary fan, that's for sure...

Valerina: But we'll have to wait until the game's trial is over to collect feedback from all our players.

Valerina: Then, with further refinements by the actual developer, Ematol, we'll make sure it's easy to pick up and fun for everyone!

About the Dodocos and their in-game opponents...

Paimon: Yeah, Paimon's curious, too. Just where did Ematol get her inspiration?

Paimon: They're based on Klee, Kaeya, Lisa, and (‍‍). Heehee, Paimon feels at home just looking at 'em!

Valerina: Well, Ematol's the developer here...

Valerina: So I asked her a similar question, and her answer was very convincing!

Valerina: "(‍‍), Sir Kaeya, and Ms. Lisa are all renowned Mondstadters, as well as the pillars of the Knights of Favonius!"

Valerina: You've all fought alongside the Spark Knight for many, many years... So, naturally, it's about time you made your tabletop debut!

Valerina: A hero's story is not a one-man show, but a collective symphony of willpower, courage, and wisdom!

Valerina: So, even while we tell the story of the Spark Knight, her companions need to all get the spotlight they deserve!

Klee's got other friends besides us, though.

Valerina: I know! But these are just the ones we have for the trial. We've got plans for Master Jean, the Helper in White, Mr. Albedo, Miss Amber, Miss Eula... The list goes on and on and on.

Paimon: Ooh, Paimon gets a Dodoco too!

Wild Shape: Paimodoco!

Valerina: As for the opponents this time, they were all designed by Ematol based on intel that the expedition team sent back.

Valerina: I think she said she referenced the monsters and foes they found in Nod-Krai...

Valerina: Well, it's a mysterious, faraway place that none of us have been to. That's why it's perfect as the setting for an adventure!

Valerina: In the future, who knows? Dodoco's story may evolve into... an adventure in another world, maybe?

Valerina: I'm gonna sponsor this as best I can, and witness the grand rise of this tabletop game!

The last time we met was...

Paimon: And you even called Paimon "Cat Whisperer," which rings a bell...

Valerina: Well, it has been a while.

Valerina: Last we met, I'd run into some trouble while running a stray cat shelter... but thanks to your help and Miss Rosaria's support, we pulled through!

Valerina: After learning a few tricks from you, Cat Whisperer, the cats stopped disliking me, and everything went according to plan!

Valerina: But not long after the shelter's trial run began, I got recruited by an old friend's team for a long adventure.

Valerina: And thank the winds I did, because our team ran into lots of strange puzzles during said adventure. If I hadn't been there, someone might've gotten hurt...

Valerina: I only just returned to Mondstadt. Now I'm tidying things up to reopen the shelter and get things up and running again.

Ah, I remember!

Paimon: You ran the Furball Fortress, right?

Valerina: That's the one!

Valerina: Snowball, Bunny, Dustball, and Dopey all miss you! If you have time, come visit us!

Valerina: And allow me to ask, how has Sir Pouncelot been?

Splendid, of course.

Paimon: Don't worry, Valerina! Sir Pouncelot's got more than enough to eat, and every day is an easy-breezy day!

He's a very happy cat.

Paimon: Oh, come to think of it, Paimon hasn't seen Sir Pouncelot in a while... Next time we're back in the Realm Within, she'll go play with him!

Valerina: That's wonderful! Let me think... What sort of dessert should I make? Hmm... Regardless, I'll trust you two to get it to him!

I'm afraid that doesn't ring any bells...

Valerina: Well, that's fine! You two must be terribly busy all the time. You probably see more strangers every week than I'd see in three years.

Valerina: If I didn't leave an impression, that just means I wasn't impressive enough. I'll just have to do my best to become a famous adventurer worth remembering!

Valerina: Next time we meet, I'll make sure you remember me instantly — along with all the wonderful moments we've shared!

Valerina: Ahaha, it's been a while, Cat Savior!

Valerina: That's not right... I should call you Honorary Knight in a setting like this.

How have you been, Valerina?

Valerina: Hmm... Not quite perfect, but not far off!

Valerina: At first, I had this grand plan... I was going to reopen Furball Fortress and kick off mass production of the Dodoco's Blow-Up-Erative Bomb-Nanza tabletop game.

Valerina: But then, an invitation from Natlan showed up and turned everything upside down.

Valerina: Liliuo, the Frost Star of Ixquimilli, heard about my past achievements and specially invited my team to assist in exploring a complex ancient ruin...

Valerina: You know, she's a famous veteran warrior from Natlan. She only switched careers to become an adventurer after she retired from that intense pilgrimage thing...

Valerina: In only half a year, she's already completed a lot of S-rank Commissions and stands a real chance of becoming the next branch master of the Natlan Adventurers' Guild! Or at least the second-in-command!

That name sounds familiar...

This is the first I've heard of her...

Valerina: Who knows, maybe you'll cross paths one day. If you do, please give her my absolute best!

Valerina: Anyway, even though it delayed my plans a little, I'm truly honored to have been able to help Liliuo out.

Valerina: Oh, and I made a pretty decent amount of Mora on the side too... My funding's looking better than ever!

Valerina: All the teammates I brought along had an absolute blast and came back with great experiences. Like that one dancing over there — that's my combat chef.

Valerina: Picked those moves up from the warriors in Natlan. Impressive, right? I'm thinking of teaching the cats back at the Fortress, too!

Great Expeditionist Challenge

Available after completing Adventurers of Teyvat: Grand Showdown!

Valerina: Ah, we meet again, Honorary Knight, Cat Savior. I've entered as an adventurer from Mondstadt myself.

Valerina: A little unexpected, yes. I had gone back to Natlan to visit some friends, but it just so happened that they were leaving on a trip. And since I was already there, they brought me along...

How have you been lately?

Valerina: Everything's been going quite smoothly.

Valerina: A little while ago, Mr. Bennett took a few of the Guild veterans to Easybreeze Holiday Resort in Natlan, and they had a wonderful time there.

Valerina: They all spoke so highly of the place that I decided to visit it myself. And goodness, it was every bit as relaxing as they said...

Valerina: And then, on the eighth day of my vacation, I happened to spot Liliuo sunbathing on the beach with two close friends of hers.

Valerina: From what I heard, one is called "Sappho Amidst the Waves," and the other is Rilai, the "Frozen Collar."

Valerina: Liliuo does the singing for the group, and she plays the Djem Djem Drum too. Sometimes she'll even bring out a cajon — one of those box drums you sit on while you play.

Valerina: Sappho usually plays the ukulele, but she can play a full-sized classical guitar as well. That guitar of hers even has Master Dvorak's signature on it.

Valerina: Rilai is a flutist, but she can also play the Nightwind Horn. She just chooses whichever instrument fits the sound they need, and she does it so effortlessly. Honestly, I doubt there's any song she couldn't play.

They sound like such kind people...

Valerina: They're kind and impressive, and somehow, animals love them just as much! I followed them on a weeklong journey of fruit wine and music, listened to my heart's content, and had a wonderful time...

Valerina: After that, they pulled me into the group, and we all set out to find a lost score.

Valerina: We'd only found it a day or two earlier when Liliuo received the invitation to this tournament. She decided on the spot that I was coming with her, too.

Valerina: I heard they were looking at some older pieces for inspiration, hoping to make their new song even better.

Valerina: They did find what they were looking for in the end, but I imagine it'll still be some time before they finish writing the new song.

Valerina: But I can hardly wait to hear it! From now on, I'm going back to Natlan every couple of months just to visit them!

Actually, I don't remember who you are.

Valerina: Huh? How could you say that!?

Valerina: Oh well... I guess that means I didn't stand out enough. I'll just have to send you a little gift from time to time, so you don't forget me again.

Valerina: In that case, allow me to introduce myself properly. I'm Valerina, riddle solver and caretaker of the Furball Fortress.

Valerina: More recently, I also invested in the Dodoco tabletop game series designed by Lisa and Ematol...
