Furious Samurai

Furious Samurai is a quest-exclusive NPC who appears in the Hidden Exploration Objective The Flagship Bounty Board. He was known as "Gonpachi" to local traveling merchants.

Profile

According to rumors, the Furious Samurai fled to Nod-Krai with his lover, Murasaki, after getting into trouble in Inazuma. His name is Gonpachi. Okin reveals that he's from the same village on Yashiori Island as her and fled the island as she did. She doesn't state specifically if the Tatarigami was the cause, but it could be inferred as the likely reason (at least for her), along with the civil war caused by the Vision Hunt Decree. Okin thought of Gonpachi as a little brother, and Murasaki was his childhood sweetheart.^[1]

After the couple arrived in Nod-Krai, Gonpachi eventually began robbing people to survive, which led to him crossing people that he shouldn't have. This would cause Murasaki to be killed, causing the Samurai's mental state to quickly deteriorate. Without stable work, he took to randomly robbing traveling merchants and outright murder, which was exactly what he was doing when the Traveler encountered and subsequently defeated him.^[2]

He takes the appearance of a Kairagi: Fiery Might.
