Ix Ajkotz'i'j Iq'ismal Waxak

Last updated 2026-01-30

Ix Ajkotz'i'j Iq'ismal Waxak Ch'ule-L, also known as the Priestess of Floral Candles and Skyborne Feathers, was the Eighth of the Thirteen Sovereign Lords. She was the sovereign ruler of Ch'upikaq Tajin and the adoptive mother of Lianca.[3]

Story

Ix Ajkotz'i'j Iq'ismal Waxak was the Eighth of the Thirteen Sovereign Lords created by Xiuhcoatl. After the invasion of Teyvat by the Heavenly Principles and the defeat of the Seven Sovereigns, with Xiuhcoatl imprisoned within lava she, alongside her fellow Sovereign Lords and Kukulkan, attempted to replicate the miracle of moon forging and reach the worlds beyond Teyvat.[4] However, upon Nibelung's return, Xiuhcoatl awoke from his feigned death and stopped the Sovereign Lords and Kukulkan from continuing their attempt.[4]

After the end of the war of funerary flame, she came to preside over Ch'upikaq Tajin, the current Flower-Feather Clan territory, during the era of the ancient dragons' rule over Natlantea.[3]

At some point, Ajkotz'i'j adopted Lianca and asked her fellow Sovereign Lord — the Second Lord, Ix Je'lal K'ua'l Ka' — to forge a bow[5] for her daughter. She supported Lianca's decision to follow her own path, even if it meant that mother and daughter might one day stand opposed.[6] This decision was later seen as a betrayal of her own kin, and she was brought before the Sovereign Rulers' Council for trial through a motion made by Twelfth Lord Ix Roq'ratik'obala' Ka'alahun. The council majority ultimately ruled for her execution, leading to her death.[1] However, it is noted that despite the trial and judgment, she remained loyal to the dragonkin until her final breath.[3]
