Oath lantern dialogue conditions

Lightkeepers' Oath is a World Quest that takes place across Paha Isle and Lempo Isle in Nod-Krai.

Start Location

Eight Oath Lanterns can be found across Nod-Krai, which can be interacted with with Flins or Illuga (a Lightkeeper character) as the active character. This quest triggers after the player has interacted with their fourth Oath Lantern, which marks the locations of the rest of the Oath Lanterns. The order in which the lanterns are approached doesn't matter.

Quest Description

This is the pledge all must take when they become Lightkeepers.

(Interact with an Oath Lantern without a Lightkeeper character as the active character, optional): Oath Lantern: A dim lantern. It appears to be the signature equipment of a Lightkeeper.

Oath Lantern: "Thus did I foresee — waves crashing on the shore, the night sky devoured by deathly silence..."

Oath Lantern #2

(Interact with the Oath Lantern with Flins or Illuga as the active character)

Oath Lantern: (The metal shade of this standard lantern is covered in tiny scratches, and a line of text is carved around its base.)

Oath Lantern: "Thus did I declare — whomsoever cradles the flame and keeps it burning unquenched need not descend into that darkness."

Oath Lantern #3

Oath Lantern: "We are the Lightkeepers, who shine the eternal light of hope into the endless snow-swept plains."

Oath Lantern: (On one side of the lantern's shade, there is a hidden compartment. Inside it is a yellowed note.)

Whoever you are, by the time you read this, I may no longer be able to speak of the lamp. I am but a humble Ratnik. When I'm gone, I hope you'll help return this lamp to the Lightkeepers. Thank you, kind stranger.

Let's find someone to ask about that, shall we?; Paimon: Someone who knows us, and who's familiar with the Lightkeepers... Ooh, Paimon's got it! Let's go to the Final Night Cemetery and look for Flins!

(Approach Flins at the Final Night Cemetery): Flins: Hello there, friend. A pleasure to meet you again amidst the graves.; You describe the "Oath Lantern" you saw and the incomprehensible words inscribed upon it.; Flins: "The winds awaken, the leaves whirl round"... This is the oath those who join the Lightkeepers swear.; Flins: Usually, each of us will carry our own lantern, only abandoning our charge to care for it when we have no other choice.; Flins: Each masterless lantern, therefore, is a marker of misfortune, a tragedy that fills me with sorrow.; Flins: But they knew that such would be their inevitable fate from the moment they made their oaths.; Flins: If there was anything else we could do for them, it would be remembering the oaths they made.; Flins: To bear and defend "lanterns alight with eternal hope"... That was their dearest wish.

Trivia

After Flins or Illuga interacts with an Oath Lantern, a papakha, a small knife, and scattered blue petals appear around it.
Some of the Oath Lanterns are right next to Tideseal Stones.
