The editor of "Constellatory Talk" insisted I come to Fontaine for a reader meet-and-greet. They even covered several days of food and lodging — at luxury-level standards, no less! Not that I needed the pampering, of course. If it were coming out of my own savings, I definitely wouldn't be staying at Hotel Debord... I'm not that reckless with my money. People always say that living simply brings you closer to the truth of the world — but honestly, when you've earned something through your own effort, you should enjoy the rewards. So yes, I ate well, had fun, and fully made the most of it. Completely justified. It's all in the Scryglass readings, anyway! And, umm, I have to admit, the Vasari Passage really is a shopper's paradise. So many shops, so many sales. I grabbed a bunch of discounted ingredients to bring back, so that should shave a nice chunk off next month's food budget, thank you very much. Also found some rarer items you don't usually see around. Cost me a bit, but I got a few anyway. Here, you can have them. Materials and tools never go to waste, and I'm sure you'll find some way to make use of them. Don't get the wrong idea — I just didn't want them collecting dust. That's all.
