The Cure of Melancholy, Alis Cutting the Gall

Last updated 2026-05-11

The Cure of Melancholy, Alis Cutting the Gall is an Achievement in the category Wonders of the World.

To obtain this achievement, the player needs to complete step 14 of the World Quest The Final Judgment in Series A Long Day in the Mountains: Chapter 3 - Judgment.

Trivia

  • The subject of this achievement, the enemy Melanta, was named after the concept of "melancholy."[1]
  • In the humoral theory of medicine, "melancholy" was viewed as a disease caused by an excess of black bile, which was thought to be produced by the spleen. Since the term "gall" was sometimes used to refer to the spleen (although it typically referred to the gallbladder), the phrase "cutting out the gall" could mean treating melancholy by removing the spleen.
