Joye is an NPC on Planarcadia, located in Duomension City. She appears after completing Adventure Mission Millennium Killer.

Profile

Joye is a pedestrian overpass that became an imagenae and is currently trying to become an idol.

During the events of Millennium Killer, Joye is targeted by Bartoli Miranda and has her eyes stolen. In spite of losing much of her Wishpower, Joye insists on accompanying the Trailblazer to discover the truth, but she is eventually forced to rest after expending much of her own life force. Fortunately, with the assistance of Ashveil and Sparxie, the Trailblazer ultimately deals with the Millennium Killer and recovers Joye's eyes, allowing her to return to her normal state.

Joye: (Trailblazer), you came to see me! Thank you so much for what you did last time. If it weren't for you, I probably would never have gotten the chance to be an idol again.

Joye: "Don't worry! Pretty girls like me have amazing recovery powers. See these big, sparkling eyes of mine? Do I look injured to you?

No lasting psychological damage, I hope?

Joye: Hehe, my nerves are as tough and solid as the steel and concrete used to build bridges. No way I'd get traumatized just like that!

Joye: See? Not only am I bursting with energy, I've already thrown myself into the next battle!

Joye: Ahem... Let me reintroduce myself!

Joye: I'm the pedestrian overpass of Duomension City, and also an idol-in-the-making named Joye! But you can just call me JoJo.

Joye: Right now, I'm competing in Planarcadia's 3,258th "Go for It! Miss Universe" mega talent show!

Joye: I'm sitting at 29 votes now. Just one more is all I need to secure my spot among the Top 990!

Joye: If you haven't voted yet, help me out, kind (Mr./Ms.) (Trailblazer)!

So a bridge can actually enter the talent show?

Joye: I worked really hard to convince the director to let me be the show's first-ever bridge contestant!

The Top 990... How top are we talking?

Joye: The 990th out of 1000. Top of the universe!

Joye: But what truly matters isn't the number itself. It's that even though I can't dance freely with my legs, those 29 shares of love and expectation have already set me running, straight down the road to becoming an idol.

I'm only voting for the idol I love the most.

Joye: You bet! I'll make sure you fall head over heels for the sparkling Joye.

Joye: I'm gonna prove that even a bridge can become a once-in-a-millennium idol sensation!

I'd like to talk about your creator...

Joye: You're asking this because you think Joye's different from the imagenae you usually see around Planarcadia, aren't you?

Joye: No tangible artistic form to freely move around in, still stuck with the utilitarian nature of an object, and even my appearance is just... an ordinary pedestrian overpass...

Joye: Because strictly speaking, Joye wasn't an imagenae brought into existence through someone's expectations.

Joye: My creator was just an ordinary, run-of-the-mill bridge engineer who designed structures to make ends meet. His designs couldn't support sprawling overpasses or link star systems across the cosmos. All he ever created was me, for a measly commission fee.

Joye: No purpose, no wishes, no artistry, no name, no eyes. Just a pedestrian overpass. That is, until I gave myself a name and found my own dream... That's when Joye was born!

Joye: But hey, I'm pretty proud of that. I'm the only bridge in his entire design career that hasn't collapsed yet.

...I wanna get off this bridge now.

Joye: Hehe, too late~! Besides, you're already under the bridge now!

Why do you want to become an idol?

Joye: You can probably imagine it. My daily life as a bridge is just standing here in numb bewilderment, watching countless strangers walk all over me.

Joye: But once those giant LED screens went up, the passersby who used to just walk on by started stopping in their tracks, drawn in by those radiant idols dancing across the displays. They'd even climb up onto the overpasses, shouting their faves' names in exhilaration, getting into heated debates over who's the best.

Joye: In that moment, excitement and longing welled up in my heart: "I wanna have a name too. I wanna become an idol!" It doesn't matter that I wasn't given wishes or expectations at birth. I will have my own dreams!

Joye: Hehe, you can say I'm a super greedy idol!

Joye: If I really make it happen, then on my debut night I'll shout at the top of my lungs: "Joye wanted it, Joye did it, Joye nailed it!"

Joye: Haha, actually, I've given it some serious thought! If I really could get that many people to like me and make it as an idol one day, I hope my fans would realize: "Even as an idol, Joye is still just a bridge!"

Joye: What I'm trying to say is, I'm not leaving this place. Even if I do become a dazzling superstar, my original mission as a pedestrian overpass — keeping people safe as they cross the street — will never change.

Joye: And that's exactly what being an idol is all about, whether it's now or in the future!

How'd it become a once-in-a-millennium thing?

Joye: It's called exaggeration~ Idols need a persona, y'know? With that, now you'll remember Joye, no?

Joye: Besides, I didn't falsely advertise anything! A more accurate version of what I just said is: "Auditioning for a thousand years straight, I will eventually get my idol sensation at least once."

Joye: To be honest, very few idols can maintain their image for a thousand years without a scandal like me.

So, what's your plan for making it as an idol?

Joye: I might not be a great dancer with these stiff limbs, but as a rock-solid footbridge, I can spoil my fans way more than any other idol!

Joye: Fans can just walk all over me, no tickets required! It's totally free, and anyone can grab a selfie. Want a free signature wink? Joye, the people's footbridge, is at your service!

Joye: But the director says I'm not "marketable" enough.

Joye: He wants a viral scandal. He told me, "Get a secret lover, play the victim since everyone's 'walking all over you' to get trending, then drop a canned apology for 'hogging public resources'..."

Joye: But for The Laughter's sake, a footbridge literally is a public resource!

But... haven't you already made it as an idol?

Joye: Well, I'm still just a small-time, amateur one!

Joye: I do small gigs at live houses sometimes, and I've got a small but super-loyal fan base. They're all totally behind my big dream now!

Joye: After all, I want to go way beyond that. My ultimate dream is to be a super idol, just like Sparxie!

Joye: Sparxie even told me she'd support my dream all the way. She's so wonderful!
