Prior to Version 4.5, only 13 Kapo-Kali can be obtained.

10 Kapo-Kali are rewarded upon completing Adventure Mission Out of Reach.
2 Kapo-Kali are given by Wen Furui during Adventure Mission From Xianzhou With Love.
1 Kapo-Kali can be obtained at the end of Adventure Mission Spirit Traces by interacting with the "Bystanding Researcher" in the crowd surrounding Capote, if the player chose to let the Xenohydro go earlier in the quest.

According to the Comet Hunter's Treasure the IPC once tried to buy Hosea Lazaro's recipe for Kapo-Kali for five million credits but he turned them down.
