Kabka is an NPC who is investigating a long forgotten picture book: "The Adventures of Bangboo Prince".
Profile
Kabka is a member of the Roscaelifer Merchant Delegation, and works as the screenwriter for a performing troupe of Bangboo operating at the Spotlight Theater, alongside the Anxious Director, Hesitant Star and Overacting Villain. Due to being a civilian, Kabka has no combat abilities.
He appears in the (Restricted Area) CCD, (Restricted Area) Energy Hub and (Hollow) Sunken Corridor in special, hidden areas. Finding these locations allows the player to interact with Kabka, where he must be guided towards a Phantom Terminal where a page from "The Adventures of Bangboo Prince" can be found. After finding the first three pages, the commission The Mist of Dark Alleys will start, allowing the players to find a fourth page with Kabka. After finding these pages, the player can find Kabka again in the Retroflux Zone and Roswick, where two more pages can be found.
History
Kabka wanted to find the picture book "The Adventures of the Bangboo Prince", both as he was curious about the true story behind it, and to use it as a basis for a possible new screenplay. To that end he found his way in to the CCD, Energy Hub and even Scamall Hollow. He ran in to roadblocks due to Ethereal threats in the area, only for Phaethon to arrive. After explaining the situation, Phaethon agreed to help Kabka find the pages, and together they uncovered three across these areas. After this, Kabka contacted Phaethon to meet him in Booastrum, as he wanted to investigation a mysterious ghost bus that he thought could serve as a lead for another page of the picture book. The pair took the midnight bus, which took them to an abandoned area called Glitch Alley, where they eventually located a fourth page, unaware of a mysterious Bangboo onlooker watching them.
Kabka continued his investigation, sneaking in to the En-Nah Gang's hideout after hearing about a restricted area there, and though he was discovered by the gang, Phaethon's presence led Griff to dismiss the guards and leave them be after they had found the page. Later, Kabka wound up taking a bus to Roswick accidentally, but realized the area might hold clues to the picture book, so he stayed in the Hollow, prompting his troupe to come after him as they were waiting on a finished script of his. The three Bangboo encountered Phaethon, who found Kabka and helped him retrieve another page before reuniting with the troupe.
