Griff Ashton

Griff Ashton is an NPC located in Booastrum District. He is the leader of the En-Nah Gang.

Profile

Griff leads the En-Nah Gang, and fiercely opposes the opening of Roscaelifer to outsiders, expressing that it is a direct betrayal of Sunbringer's ideals. This is in stark contrast to his brother Reginald, who understands the risks but is open to new possibilities. They also differ in their stance towards their people, as where Reginald hopes to preserve relations between humans and Bangboo, Griff states that Bangboo can only trust one another given the situation. He and Reginald are sometimes directly at odds; at one point Griff interrupted a meeting at the CCD Square between Reginald and Hilda, and later on, after Phaethon helps Forboos obtain half of the entire bottle cap economy, Griff and Reginald butt heads while trying to bring Forboos to their side.

Like his brother, Griff is one of the few Bangboo to have a family name, and like other En-Nah Gang members, ends his sentences with the term "gah". He regularly attends the Spotlight Theater, both to watch plays and to recruit new members to the gang.

Talking to him in CCD Square at midnight for the first time unlocks his profile on Interboo.

History

It is unknown when Griff came to lead the En-Nah Gang, but he has held the position for some time. When Remielle came to Roscaelifer, Prophetboo urged the Gang to take care of her, which Griff saw to handily, getting her a room in their base, food, bedding and arcade cabinets. When Phaethon first arrived in the city, Griff was continuing with his daily business, promoting the gang to the best of his abilities.

While Phaethon was investigating the Bangboo murders, the memories of the Bangboo Toby led them to seek out the En-Nah Gang, and after making their way through the Retroflux Zone, they eventually met Griff. He welcomed them and took them to Prophetboo, but with no knowledge of the Revelation that the Databoo of the gang had seen, Griff quickly labelled them an infiltrator. Prophetboo suggested that they leave their fate to "The Great One", who, much to Phaethon's surprise, was Remielle. She vouched for Phaethon with Griff, and he instructed the gang to assist them from then on.

Later, after the Girtablullu possessed Dracaene attacked Phaethon and Remielle brought them back to the Retroflux Zone, Sigrid came to find them, and though Griff attempted to turn her away, in the end she became an ally in turn, as Griff prepared the gang to help the trio defeat Girtablulu and rescue Dracaene.

Griff increased security around the En-Nah Gang's base after hearing too many Bangboo asking about the "The Adventures of the Bangboo Prince" picture book. A Phantom Terminal was stationed in their base, and he sought to protect the page within it. When Kabka and Phaethon found it, he allowed them to keep hold of it, and noted the increase in other parties inquiring about the book, before sending them on their way.
