Roland is a stern military commander who is currently the chief of the New Eridu Defense Force stationed at Scott Outpost, overseeing Hollow Zero. He is initially against hiring Independent Investigators, considering Hollow Zero to be too dangerous for civilians.[1] He warmed up to the protagonist after seeing their capabilities, and gave them access to more dangerous operations.[2] According to Yixuan, Roland is one of the few academics in the Defense Force, and he is familiar with the many strange phenomena of Hollow Zero.[3]
