Willis

Willis is an event-exclusive NPC. He appears as an antagonist during the events of Tales of Midsummer Dreams.

History

Willis was an R&D Division Manager at Three Gates Military Tech, who took a keen interest in the Fantasy Resort due to its ties to Midsummer Incorporated through Therese's father, the previous CEO of Midsummer. Willis believed that there was secret military research or technology hidden on the grounds of the resort, and therefore wanted to take over the resort by any means necessary.

By using underhanded tactics, he would try to ruin the resort financially by creating multiple staged "hauntings" and supernatural events to drive away customers. This initially worked, causing Therese and Ege to have to take out a loan through Three Gates Corp in order to keep the resort functioning, albeit with a skeleton crew and most of the attractions closed.

He would later return to the resort, hoping to foreclose on it, due to Therese and Ege's inability to pay back the loan, however would find it thriving, due to the intervention of Phaethon and the three members of Spook Shack: Ukinami Yuzuha, Komano Manato, and Alice Thymefield.

Willis would re-attempt to ruin the resort, resorting to using the tactics he had used in the past such as setting up "invisible" projectors that would display creepy imagery, making customers flee under the belief the resort was indeed haunted. However, this time his plans would fail as Phaethon and Spook Shack would obtain and disable the projectors and he made the mistake of harming Empy as Phaethon used its recordings to reveal his true goals and actions to destroy the resort. With his plans exposed and revealed to the public on live TV, it eventually led to his dismissal from Three Gates Military Tech, and arrest at the hands of New Eridu Public Security after he attempted to fight back in a last-ditch effort against Phaethon and Spook Shack.
