Achupalla is a Quechua word used to refer to certain types of bromeliads, specifically plants from the genus Puya. In Chile, achupalla is used to make the chupalla, a traditional Chilean horseman's hat made of straw.
Achupalla is the translation for "pineapple" in the Aymara language.
