Gaumaru is an event-exclusive NPC who first appeared in the event Soulblazers' Snowbound Journey.
Profile
Gaumaru is a Ninken who has been trained by Sumire, the Inspector of the Shuumatsuban, since it was a puppy. Its personality appears to be playful and energetic, and it is diligent in improving its combat skills.
During the Soulblazers' Snowbound Journey event, Sumire brought Gaumaru to train on Dragonspine, which significantly increased its strength. Gaumaru went on to defeat all Ninkens and Ninjas in its cohort in the Shuumatsuban's internal trials and was able to withstand Sayu's strongest attacks for a record-breaking amount of time, earning it the status of leader of the newest generation of Ninken.
During the Trials of the Brave Warrior event, Sumire accompanied Gaumaru to Nod-Krai to participate in the Technical Martial Challenge, where Gaumaru placed as a finalist alongside Diminished Seventh Arpeggio and Onyx Agate. At this point, Sumire judged its combat ability to be on par with Taroumaru at his prime. Like its fellow finalists, Gaumaru dueled the Traveler, after which the player could choose to award it with the championship title.

- Sumire: Soon, at the martial arts tournament, you'll have your first chance to show what you've got.
- Sumire: As the newest generation of the Shuumatsuban's Ninken, I believe you'll go further than any of your predecessors.
- Sumire: Of course, it's not all about combat. Your tracking skills need work, too.
- Sumire: Your next goal is to find Master Sayu while she's hiding and napping in less than five times the time Miss Kano Nana took. Think you can handle that?
