Huachu

Huachu is an open-world NPC found near the Teleport Waypoint at Stone Gate. She can be found sitting with Jianqiu, drinking Pops Zhou's tea.

Profile
Huachu is the second daughter of Gentry De'an, who manages the Minghua Company. She fell in love with an arithmetic teacher named Jianqiu, but her father disapproved of their relationship due to her lover's lower social standing.[3]
In order to elope, Huachu and Jianqiu conspired to fake her death. Using a corpse obtained through unknown means, they dressed it up as Huachu and left it inside the well at Feiyun Slope in Liyue Harbor.[4] This polluted the water supply, leading the Millelith to discover it and conclude that Huachu committed suicide. Unaware that she was actually alive and well, Gentry De'an grieved and decided to sell the Minghua Bank's facilities to pay for her funeral.[3][5]
The two have stayed at Stone Gate since then, implied to be due to Huachu's reluctance to leave Liyue. During the Traveler's first Lantern Rite Festival, Huachu grew homesick and wanted to see the Xiao Lanterns. Unable to enter Liyue Harbor without exposing their ruse, she and Jianqiu roamed the city outskirts when they passed Mr. Zhu, who invited them to rest at the Emerald Maple Inn. After eating and lighting some Xiao Lanterns, the two leave without staying the night. Mr. Zhu suspects the couple's story, but decides not to investigate the matter further.[6]

- Huachu: Yes... Out of consideration for the business, I limited myself to a single travel partner.
- Where are you going?
- Huachu: Apologies, that information is company confidential.
- Have a wonderful excursion.
- Huachu: And the same to you.
Trivia
- Hongyi, a Millelith guard in Chihu Rock, is greatly concerned about the water situation at Feiyun Slope. He is unaware that Huachu and Jianqiu caused it, nor is he aware that his fellow Millelith determined the source of the contamination to be the corpse she used to fake her death.
