Trivia

  • The Chinese name of the soundtrack may be a reference to a poem by Tang dynasty poet Du Guzhi (Chinese: 登山谷寺上方答皇甫侍御卧疾阙陪车骑之后 "Ascending above the mountain valley temple after answering Huang Fushi's question while he was ill and accompanied by carriage"). It reads:
The courtyard of the Buddhist temple appears as if to climb into the clouds above, Tianzhu Mountain’s solitary peak seen as clearly as if in one’s own palm. The horsetracks of the Han Emperor’s steed have already been grown over by weeds, and the Dharmaraja’s visage remains to be viewed in an empty casket.
The clouds crowd the soaring peak of the Buddhist tower such that even the heavens appear to have lowered, the pine trees’ shade shields the Zen temple such that even in broad daylight it appears cold. My heart cannot relax without seeing Dai Kui, but luckily I have newly gifted precious poetry to comfort my soul.
