Kaleva

Kaleva is a quest-exclusive NPC who appears in the Nod-Krai Intel Quest They Who Abandoned the Past.

Profile

Kaleva is a Treasure Hoarder who is previously acquainted with Jahoda. A few days before the start of They Who Abandoned the Past, Kaleva and his two subordinates came across a terminally ill Ihanti. Believing that Ihanti had already succumbed to his illness, the three stole a bag containing his belongings. However, not only was Ihanti still alive, inside the bag was a painting he made with his late wife and daughter — the only thing which held sentimental value to him. Ihanti posted a bounty for the three at the Adventurers' Guild and used the first item he ever stole as collateral, which catches Jahoda's eye as the two were both members of the disbanded Seahook Gang.

Jahoda takes up the commission and confronts Kaleva with the Traveler's backing. The negotiation attempt devolves into a fight, which Jahoda and the Traveler easily win. She gives them some Mora so they can go to a doctor and treat their injuries, and learns about Ihanti's condition. After obtaining Ihanti's location, Jahoda leaves to return his items. Kaleva is left remarking to himself how she is "scary smart one moment, unbelievably naive the next."
