Seahook Gang

Last updated 2026-07-18

The Seahook Gang was once a notorious gang of bandits based in Nod-Krai. The original gang disbanded some time ago, allowing imposters to become criminally active under the guise of the gang's name.[1]

Overview

The original Seahook Gang was a band of thieves with significant power and influence in Nod-Krai. They took in exiled criminals from across Teyvat[1] and were known as a "hidden power" that once controlled Nasha Town. However, they were done in by a wealthy merchant named Ratfan, who bribed some of the gang's members into betraying and killing their boss. The rest of the gang then scattered and disbanded, although Jahoda eventually avenged her boss by killing Ratfan.[2]

The gang's activities are unclear, although it seems to have been largely comprised of thieving and banditry.[3][4] Jahoda remarks that Ihanti distinguished himself from the others, who were "pulling dumb scams and petty robberies," by being persuasive enough to talk people into giving him their money.[5]

One of the boss' codes was "Grant rest to those who seek it."[5]

Story

Little is known about the Seahook Gang's origins, as most information about it comes from Jahoda's perspective, and she was brought into the gang by Zinaida after it was already established. She spent some time with Ihanti, who was among the gang's more skilled members and showed off by keeping Jahoda around as a sidekick.[5]

At some point, as part of a certain "business deal," the gang once captured a merchant who was known as a black-hearted swindler. After returning what he owed to his victims, the members divided the spoils amongst themselves and partied all night. This included a necklace which the merchant desperately wanted back, though the group refused. Jahoda, who believed him, secretly stole and returned it to him.[3]

The gang eventually fell when a merchant Ratfan bribed members of the gang into assassinating their own boss, then destroyed the evidence in a fire.[2] The remaining members quickly devolved into chaos and scattered; some died, some fled to other nations, and some remained in Nasha Town and simply buried their past. Jahoda ended up as Nefer's employee after successfully eliminating Ratfan, which impressed Nefer and reminded her of her own history.

Present Day

Sometime after the Seahook Gang disbanded, a different group began using their name in order to take advantage of their intimidating reputation. They are currently active in Nod-Krai.[1]

Nefer seems to be keeping tabs on what remains of the original Seahook Gang, as she asks Lestocq to have the Marechaussee Phantom round up some ex-members who recently turned up in Fontaine.[6] At some point, Zinaida was hired by the Voynich Guild to be a covert bodyguard for Manez, the port supervisor.[7]

In the Nod-Krai Intel Quest They Who Abandoned the Past, Jahoda has a short-lived reunion with Ihanti, who is terminally ill and on the verge of death. Realizing that Jahoda will sacrifice her own well-being for his sake, Ihanti decides to commit suicide before she can do so.
