Kleiner is a renowned adventurer, much like his wife, Alice, and available information suggests that the two frequently travel together. At one point, Kleiner and Alice spent time raising their daughter, Klee, in Mondstadt. Three years prior to the Traveler’s arrival in Mondstadt, they entrusted Klee to the Knights of Favonius before departing to “travel to somewhere dangerous and far away.” Since then, Klee has remained in Mondstadt under the care and protection of the Knights.^[3][4]

Kleiner's travels extend beyond Teyvat itself. At some point, Kleiner met with Alice and Nicole at Teyvat's "border," where strict procedures and inspections were required before crossing. Here, Alice spotted Kleiner from the distance "juggling eight paper bags". He waved back at her with equal enthusiasm when she called out to him. Upon arriving, he brought food and supplies for the group before they planned to "check out all the other fun things."^[5]

According to Venti, Kleiner was expected to accompany Alice on her trip. However, Alice explains that he was delayed due to "troublesome happenings on another planet," as well as instability affecting the world's "border." Even after he "jumped through all those hoops to make it back to Teyvat," his plans were disrupted again by Dottore's activities, resulting in his vacation being postponed. Venti then remarks that being a "Seeker" is a tough job indeed.^[1]

Kleiner also keeps in contact with his family through the Dodocommunication Device. Alice mentions that he recently gave them a call, and Klee was "pleased as punch" to hear her father's voice.^[1]
