2020-10-26 Dialogue

Regular Dialogue

(Talk to Liben))
Liben: Ah, hello. Do you need something?
Icon Dialogue Quest I'm here to do some business.
(If you haven't submitted the items yet)
Liben: The items needed today are as such.
(Opens the Today's Required Materials screen.)
(If you have already submitted the items)
Liben: I thought you'd already taken a Box o' Marvels for today? That said, feel free to inspect the others. You'll see I don't cheat any of my customers.
Icon Dialogue BoxOfMarv I'm here for my Box o' Marvels...
Liben: Here you are: genuine goods at a pleasing price. Worst-case scenario, it'll top up your coin pouch.
(Opens the Box o' Marvels selection screen)
Icon Dialogue Talk White Can you run me through your background again?
Liben: I'm Liben, and once upon a time I sold curios.
Liben: But I've finally said goodbye to that now that I've made it enough to rub shoulders with the Qixing. No more Mr. Small-Time Merchant for me!
Liben: And that's why you and I are about to start doing business together, and both of us are going to make a handsome sum!
Icon Dialogue Talk White What kind of business?
Liben: Simple. You find me a few basic every items, cooking ingredients and the like, and then you trade them with me for a Box o' Marvels, full of all kinds of nice little treasures.
Liben: Keep in mind that I've filled these Boxes o' Marvels with the fortune I made in my time as a seller of curios. There's no booby prizes to be found here, and I treat all my customers the same.
Liben: Why box them up and turn it into a lucky draw, you say?
Liben: What can I say, people like a gift box. It just makes everyone a little more inclined to get involved.
Icon Dialogue Talk White How do you earn any money like this?
Liben: See, this is where the clever bit comes in.
Liben: I have recently became privy to some highly confidential intel from the Qixing. It's tough times ahead for the whole of Teyvat, apparently.
Liben: If I start stockpiling everyday essentials now, before long I'll be able to sell them off at much higher prices and make a huge profit.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Goodbye.
Liben: See you around.

Day 1

(Talk to Liben)
Media:vo tips travelmerchant paimon 01.ogg Paimon: That guy over there seems pretty chipper. Wonder what he's so happy about?
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 01.ogg Liben: Friend! That we should meet means that fate has surely smiled upon you. Oh, I have an excellent business proposition for you. If I could just have a moment of your time?
Media:vo tips travelmerchant paimon 02.ogg Paimon: Why do you merchant types always sound so suspicious?
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 02.ogg Liben: Oh, come now, don't be like that. The integrity of a Liyue merchant is as steadfast as the Geo Archon themselves.
Icon Dialogue Talk White No harm in hearing you out, I guess.
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 03.ogg Liben: It's simple. Every day you find me some basic items, and trade them in here for a box full of exciting little curios.
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 04.ogg Liben: Even the worst boxes have precious metals inside them... in the form of Mora cast at the Golden House, no less.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Okay, but what's in it for you?
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 05.ogg Liben: Oh, my business model is a little too complex to explain right now. But, if I have your consistent support in this business deal, then perhaps I will consider letting you in on how it works one day. Hahaha!
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 06.ogg Liben: So, whaddya think? Interested?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Can't hurt to try it out.

Day 2

(Talk to Liben)
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 07.ogg Liben: Ahh, I see you've willingly returned. That must mean you trust me, even if only a little.
Media:vo tips travelmerchant paimon 03.ogg Paimon: Paimon's heard of scams that start like this though. They rope you in with all the benefits in the beginning, so you let your guard down and that's when they get ya!
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 08.ogg Liben: Hahahaha, please! I don't rely on scams to make my Mora. I rely on my keen sense of business trends.

Day 3

(Talk to Liben)
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 09.ogg Liben: I was once a merchant of curios. Why curios you ask? Well, because logically speaking, the rarer something is, the more expensive it is.
Media:vo tips travelmerchant paimon 04.ogg Paimon: Well Paimon's super rare — there's only one in all of Teyvat! So, ah, where's the Mora?
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 10.ogg Liben: Ehehehe, something big is about to happen to our world. And what do you think is going to become scarce once that happens?

Day 4

(Talk to Liben)
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 11.ogg Liben: What was it I was telling you about yesterday? Ahh yes, supply and demand.
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 12.ogg Liben: You should know, because of Mondstadt's Stormterror attacks, orchard production was affected and stocks are low. As such, we can expect the price of Mondstadt's wines and ciders to go sky-high, all across Teyvat.
Media:vo tips travelmerchant paimon 05.ogg Paimon: Yeah, we know a thing or two about the Stormterror issue...
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 13.ogg Liben: So, let's see how well you can put two and two together. Tell me, why am I swapping out my curios for basic household items?
Media:vo tips travelmerchant paimon 06.ogg Paimon: Because... the whole world is about to be destroyed!
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 14.ogg Liben: Hahahaha.

Day 5

(Talk to Liben)
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 15.ogg Liben: What was I mentioning yesterday?
Media:vo tips travelmerchant paimon 07.ogg Paimon: Ah yes. Okay, so let's say the world really was on the brink of destruction — how would you even know that anyway?
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 16.ogg Liben: That is one of a merchant's other talents. Not only must we read the market and act accordingly, so too must we have our connections.
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 17.ogg Liben: I happen to be in the know about some very top secret intel. Intel which has come from none other than the economic authority that is Qixing themselves.

Day 6

(Talk to Liben)
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 18.ogg Liben: So yesterday I was telling you about... ah, that's right. The Qixing's intel.
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 19.ogg Liben: The Qixing are the seven greatest merchants in Liyue, who govern over everything to do with our economy, so it goes without saying that their intel is very accurate.
Media:vo tips travelmerchant paimon 08.ogg Paimon: So just what is this intel then?
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 20.ogg Liben: Stormterror has affected Mondstadt's agricultural production, whilst the Fatui have been getting rather imperious in Liyue and Inazuma.
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 21.ogg Liben: According to confidential intel said to have come from Ningguang, Tianquan of the Qixing herself, the Qixing plan to break ties with the Fatui, and simply let Liyue bear the brunt of the economic impact.
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 22.ogg Liben: And when that time comes, the Qixing will be sure to make a pretty penny off the inflated price of everyday items.
Media:vo tips travelmerchant paimon 09.ogg Paimon: But where would that leave the poor people of Liyue?

Day 7

(Talk to Liben)
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 23.ogg Liben: No, no, no, this isn't right... The word about the rift between the Qixing and the Fatui should be out by now...
Media:vo tips travelmerchant paimon 10.ogg Paimon: Have you ever stopped to consider that maybe this "secret intel" of yours is being "leaked" to you on purpose?
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 24.ogg Liben: You mean, this is a ploy by the Qixing to control small and medium business owners?
Media:vo tips travelmerchant paimon 11.ogg Paimon: Based on our interactions with others, it seems like you're the only one getting duped.
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 25.ogg Liben: I... I've been scammed... by Ningguang...
Icon Dialogue Talk White You're not going to ask me to return my stuff now, are you?
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 26.ogg Liben: Integrity is the cornerstone of being a merchant, so I won't go back on my word but... But... this is terrible...
Media:vo tips travelmerchant paimon 12.ogg Paimon: Well, don't give up! You've still got a long life to lead!
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 27.ogg Liben: You're right. My heart wasn't in the right place. How could the Qixing ever turn their backs on the people of Liyue in order to make a profit? Those everyday items are a necessity for the people to just get by. No one should attempt to corner the market like that, and I shouldn't have allowed myself to go along with it.
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 28.ogg Liben: Friend, you have seen with your own eyes my very rise and fall. Let my mistakes be a lesson for you.
Icon Dialogue Talk White That lesson being... to not become a merchant?
Media:vo tips travelmerchant liben 29.ogg Liben: *sigh* I'm going to need some time to myself to think about what's happened. Business will at least continue to go on, but in the immediate sense that doesn't help me a whole lot...

2021-01-23 Dialogue

(First conversation)
Liben: Friend! That we should meet means that fate has surely smiled upon you. Oh, I have an excellent business proposition for you. If I could just have a moment of your time?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Didn't you go bust?
Liben: Ah, friend, how your words wound my very soul! That lesson I was taught was sore enough. Shall we not let bygones be bygones?
Liben: I've been working hard at the wharf since I ran myself out of house and home, and happened upon a business opportunity while I was at it.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Why yes, I'm familiar with your business sense...
Liben: Oh, come now. Don't say that. I've earned a little money since, and am now completely free of debt.
Liben: Either way, this business is a sure bet, the long travel distance to Sumeru notwithstanding.
Liben: As most know, Sumeru is all rainforest and desert. Other than mushrooms, all goods are welcome there. I'm sure you understand my meaning, don't you, friend?
Liben: The rules are the same as before. I'll collect some common goods from other lands, and send them on to Sumeru. And since we're old partners, I'll give you a special price, too!
Icon Dialogue Talk White Guess we'll give it another go...
Liben: Haha! So, this is how we'll do it—
(Talk to Liben)
Liben: Hahaha, hello there, friend! I shall be counting on you today as well.
Icon Dialogue BoxOfMarv I'm here to do some business.
(If you haven't submitted the items yet)
Liben: The items needed today are as such.
(If you have already submitted the items)
Liben: I thought you'd already taken a Box o' Marvels for today? That said, feel free to inspect the others. You'll see that I don't cheat any of my customers.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Could you tell me your story again?
Liben: I was scammed by Ningguang previously and ended up without a single Mora to my name.
Liben: But after working at the wharf and roaming the land for a time, I've come up with a new money-making method.
Liben: I'll be counting on you to make it happen, friend.
(Loops back to starting dialogue tree.)
Icon Dialogue Talk White Goodbye.
Liben: See you around.

2021-04-16 Dialogue

(First conversation)
Liben: My dear friend! I trust you have been quite well?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Sumeru has the tastiest mushrooms then, huh?
Liben: I had a bad experience once and it put me off mushrooms for life... But if you ever make it to Sumeru, I must say — the trees there are simply exceptional.
Liben: Since the last time you saw me, I've been on another round trip.
Icon Dialogue Talk White And you emerged unscathed?
Liben: Sumeru has a whole tribe of experts dedicated to the protection of merchants like myself. There are a lot of rules to observe, but safety is not an issue.
Liben: Speaking of rules, I presume we shall proceed on the same basis as always?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Guess we'll give it another go...
Liben: Haha, marvelous! So, here's how we'll do it this time...
(Talk to Liben)
Icon Dialogue BoxOfMarv I'm here to do some business.
Liben: Hahaha, hello there, friend! I shall be counting on you today as well.
(If you haven't submitted the items yet)
Liben: The items needed today are as such.
(If you have already submitted the items)
Liben: I thought you'd already taken a Box o' Marvels for today? That said, feel free to inspect the others. You'll see that I don't cheat any of my customers.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Tell me another one of your stories?
Liben: I'm afraid I'm all out of interesting tales to tell. I did mention that I made a trip to Sumeru, didn't I?
Liben: It gave me an idea... I wonder if there is a market for Sumeru mushrooms in other place? So, I thought I would give it a try.
Liben: As it turned out, I nearly ended up in the second most tragic situation of my life: Dying while I still have money to spare.
(Loops back to starting dialogue tree.)
Icon Dialogue Talk White Goodbye.
Liben: See you around.

2021-12-27 Dialogue

(First conversation)
Liben: Hello there, friend! Long time no see!
Icon Dialogue Talk White Hey, Liben!
Liben: You're in good spirits, I see, hehe!
Liben: How've you been these days? Tell you what, I recently got a license to do business in Inazuma.
Liben: Have you been there?
Icon Dialogue Talk White I have.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Not yet.
Liben: Haha, no worries, no worries! I mean, I am here to brag, after all.
Liben: ...Not that there's much to brag about, though. I'm flat broke at the moment.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Huh!?
Liben: Basically, I took a commission from a researcher from Sumeru to bring a prototype card game named "Sacred Call of Seven" to Yae Publishing House in Inazuma.
Liben: Afterward, I chanced upon a business opportunity, and to that end, I purchased a lot of Ms. Hina publications, along with commemorative Taroumaru coins from the Komore Teahouse.
Liben: I don't really know why, but Inazumans really love this stuff. So there I was, thinking that I'd be able to make a quick buck...
Icon Dialogue Talk White Let me guess...
Liben: In the end, the deposit for the Taroumaru coins was stolen!
Liben: I mean, come on. Those things had commemorative value, so how could the price plummet so low from such a high value?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Maybe you shouldn't have bought high...
Liben: Either way, it's all over now — we're back to square one.
Liben: I trust that our deal's still on, all things in spite?
(Talk to Liben)
Liben: Ah, hello there. Need something?
Icon Dialogue BoxOfMarv I'm here to do some business.
(If you haven't submitted the items yet)
Liben: The items needed today are as such.
(If you have already submitted the items)
Liben: I thought you'd already taken a Box o' Marvels for today? That said, feel free to inspect the others. You'll see that I don't cheat any of my customers.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Can you run me through what happened to you again?
Liben: I'm Liben, and once upon a time I sold curios.
Liben: Recently, I lost all the money I made plying the trade route to Sumeru on my Inazuma venture. So it's back to the old business with me.
Icon Dialogue Talk White What kind of business is that?
Liben: Simple. You find me a few basic everyday items, cooking ingredients and the like, and then you trade them with me for a Box o' Marvels, full of all kinds of nice little treasures.

Liben: Why box them up and turn it into a lucky draw, you ask?
Liben: What can I say, people like a gift box. It just makes everyone a little more inclined to get involved.
Icon Dialogue Talk White How are you going to earn any Mora like this?
Liben: I'll probably continue plying the Sumeru trade route.
Liben: Still, there's something fishy going on in Sumeru. Once I finish this job, I'm going to relax for a while.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Goodbye.
Liben: See you around.

2022-05-06 Dialogue

Liben: Ah, friend, we meet once more.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Hey, Liben. How have things been?
Liben: Oh, I'm taking it slow right now. The trade route to Sumeru has been mighty stable.
Liben: However, some strange people have showed up in Sumeru lately, and that was when my gut told me it was time to leave.
Liben: By the way, have you ever been to Liyue's Qiaoying Village?
Icon Dialogue Talk White And where is that?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Not yet.
Liben: Ah, it's where northern Liyue intersects with Fontaine. The tea there is pretty famous, I'll tell you what.
Liben: I personally prefer some Tianheng Bohea or some Qiaoying floral tea. Give them a try if you've got the time.
Icon Dialogue Talk White And why are you suddenly mentioning all this stuff again?
Liben: Well, I've been considering whether I should go to Fontaine to do business. There's an ominous air hanging over Sumeru, I can feel it.
Liben: And Qiaoying is the quickest way to get to Fontaine.
Liben: To be honest, I've never been there, and I've got no clue what business I should do there either.
Icon Dialogue Talk White So, will you still be taking jun— I mean, goods?
Liben: I can't say, friend. But I do hope that the unrest in Sumeru will be swept away, as if by divine might.
Liben: Take it from me: Don't go to Sumeru. It's a dangerous place — or at least it has been of late.
Icon Dialogue Talk White You stay safe too, Liben.
Liben: I will. Once I get back from Sumeru this time, I'll drop by Inazuma on the way back. Unfortunately, Ms. Hina merchandise doesn't sell in Mondstadt, Liyue, or Sumeru...
Liben: So, I trust that our deal's still on, then?
(Talk to Liben)
Liben: Ah, hello there. Need something?
Icon Dialogue BoxOfMarv I'm here to do some business.
(If you haven't submitted the items yet)
Liben: The items needed today are as such.
(If you have already submitted the items)

Icon Dialogue Talk White Goodbye.
Liben: See you around.

2022-11-28 Dialogue

Liben: Hello there, friend. It's been a while, hasn't it?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Hello, Liben. How have you been?
Liben: Well, I'd say that I've found the proverbial light at the end of the tunnel at last. After returning from Sumeru previously, I did a quick cargo run to Inazuma.
Liben: Since things weren't looking so hot in Sumeru, I decided to try my luck in Fontaine instead.
Liben: I was just going to observe the market a little, you know, and if I made my capital back? Well, you wouldn't see me complaining.
Liben: I never could have been prepared for how much the locals there loved Inazuman goods.
Liben: The goods I had on me and couldn't sell in other countries, such as the Ms. Hina merchandise, actually sold out.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Well, that's wonderful.
Icon Dialogue Talk White So Ms. Hina got to show her quality, eh?
Liben: The people of Fontaine love messing about with mechanical devices, and relatively few, by contrast, spend time developing such trinkets as these.
Liben: I suppose that's the scarcity principle for you.
Liben: Hahaha. Well, if it didn't look like dark clouds were gathering there too, I'd have made a few more trips for sure.
Icon Dialogue Talk White What's going on over there?
Liben: Well, things just feel oppressive and dangerous... You know, like a storm is about to break out.
Liben: The locals were pretty antsy... Said judgment was soon to come, or something like that.
Liben: I'd suggest you refrain from going there lest you get yourself into trouble that you can't easily get out of.
Icon Dialogue Talk White I'll bear that in mind.
Icon Dialogue Talk White You be careful too, Liben.
Liben: Well, then our arrangement shall be the same as always.
(Talk to Liben)
Liben: Ah, hello there. Need something?
Icon Dialogue BoxOfMarv I'm here for my Box o' Marvels.
(If you haven't submitted the items yet)
Liben: The items needed today are as such.
(If you have already submitted the items)
Liben: I reckon you've already collected one for the day, friend! Still, feel free to inspect the other boxes. As before, you'll find that I'm no cheat.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Can you run me through your background again?
Liben: I'm Liben, and once upon a time I sold curios.
Liben: I haven't yet decided on which trade route to take, so I decided to take up my old business.
Icon Dialogue Talk White What sort of business are you referring to again...?
Liben: Ah, it's simple. You see, you just need to find me a few basic everyday items, cooking ingredients and the like, and then you trade them with me for a Box o' Marvels that are stuffed full of all kinds of nice little treasures.
Liben: Keep in mind that I've filled these Boxes o' Marvels with the fortune I made in my time as a seller of curios. There's no booby prizes to be found here, and I treat all my customers the same.
Liben: So why's this a lucky draw in the first place, again?
Liben: Ah, you see, it enhances the surprise! My previous customers were quite fond of the format... and so it stuck.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Goodbye.
Liben: See you around.

2024-01-22 Dialogue

(Talk to Liben)
Liben: Hello, friend. It's been a long time.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Liben, I trust you've been well?
Liben: Life is full of triumphs and setbacks. I've grown used to it, you know. A small illness is nothing to write home about, and minor losses are just part of the game.
Liben: So I suppose you could say I've been well enough, ha!
Liben: How about you, friend?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Not bad.
Liben: That's marvelous to hear!
Icon Dialogue Talk White Not so good.
Liben: ...Really?
Liben: I am overjoyed today, because I have run into you once again, my friend!
Icon Dialogue Talk White Anything interesting happening lately?
Liben: Don't you think I ought to head to Natlan and seek out new business opportunities? Seize the day and strike while the iron's hot?
Liben: Hahaha, I don't actually want to go to Natlan this time.
Liben: A few days ago, I accidentally fell into a hole and spent the whole night staring at the stars.
Icon Dialogue Talk White That definitely doesn't count as having been "well" lately...
Liben: Anyway, I was rescued by a passing adventurer, and didn't even get hungry down there! All's well that ends well, am I right?
Liben: Looking up at the stars at night, I couldn't help but wonder... What lies beyond this world?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Uh... Endless distance, and endless worlds.
Liben: You think so too, friend?
Liben: I was thinking how, what if every single star was actually a sun, and each of those suns had a planet orbiting it that we could visit?
Liben: Or what if we could even visit every single star themselves? After all, they just give off light, maybe they aren't even that hot?
Icon Dialogue Talk White The nights there would be quite bright. You couldn't sleep with that much light.
Liben: Oh, that's true. Then it would be enough just to go look. Though no one could live there like that, so I guess there wouldn't be any business opportunities.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Trying to trailblaze a new trade route?
Liben: Do the nations up in the sky use Mora too? But if those places are lit up all day long, then nobody can live there, right?
Liben: Back to the matter at hand, our old deal is still on, right? No changes?
(Continues to the options below)
(Talk to Liben again)
Liben: Ah, hello there. Need something?
Icon Dialogue BoxOfMarv I'm here for my Box o' Marvels.
(If the player has not collected the daily Box o' Marvels)
Liben: The items needed today are as such.
(Opens Liben's Daily Commission)
(If the player has already collected the daily Box o' Marvels)
Liben: I reckon you've already collected one for the day, friend! Still, feel free to inspect the other boxes. As before, you'll find that I'm no cheat.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Can you run me through your background again?
Liben: I'm Liben, and once upon a time I sold curios.
Liben: I've been doing good business recently.
Icon Dialogue Talk White What kind of business are you talking about?
Liben: Ah, it's simple. You see, you just need to find me a few basic everyday items, cooking ingredients and the like, and then you trade them with me for a Box o' Marvels that are stuffed full of all kinds of nice little treasures.

Liben: Why box them up and turn it into a lucky draw, you ask?
Liben: What can I say, people like a gift box. It just makes everyone a little more inclined to get involved.
Icon Dialogue Talk White How are you going to earn any Mora like this?
Liben: Something like this... Let's worry about it when the time comes.
Liben: If worse comes to worst, I'll take a trip to Natlan next time.
(Returns to selection)
Icon Dialogue Talk White Goodbye.
Liben: See you around.

2024-11-11 Dialogue

(Talk to Liben)
Liben: Hey there, friend! It's been a while!
Icon Dialogue Talk White It sure has, Liben!
Liben: Hehe, enthusiastic as ever, I see... I wonder, how changed a man am I?
Icon Dialogue Talk White You're the same as ever.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Why, you're getting friendlier!
Liben: That's good. I mean, I almost didn't make it back this time.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Did you try your luck in Natlan?
Liben: Nope! I heard that things there were tense, so I deliberately avoided it and went to Nod-Krai instead.
Liben: Have you been there?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Nope.
Icon Dialogue Talk White What kind of place is that?
Liben: No? Well, I guess I can tell you about it then.
Liben: Nod-Krai is in the southernmost part of Snezhnaya, where people from all over Teyvat gather. Those not in the know would think that opportunities to get rich are everywhere there.
Liben: It's only after you get there that you realize that it's a wild place that plays by its own rules.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Its own rules?
Liben: Let me put it this way: Before I even set foot in the city, I was robbed by a group of vagrants — taking advantage of my ignorance about the place.
Liben: Courts of law, Knights of Favonius... There's none of that there. Someone just told me to visit the Voynich Guild.
Liben: Said the Guild was the strongest force in the area and that they might be able to get me justice.
Liben: I was only half-convinced at first, so imagine my surprise when the Guild folks not only hauled all my goods back — they even bought everything off me, too. Totally amazing, right?
Liben: I was so happy to see that much Mora, I counted it all up several times!
Icon Dialogue Talk White "I've done it! Woohoo!"[Note 1]
Icon Dialogue Talk White ...And why did I almost not make it back, you ask?[Note 1]
Liben: Ugh... I don't even wanna talk about it. When I left the city again, I ran into another band of vagrants, who robbed me of every Mora — not a single coin was spared.
Icon Dialogue Talk White They must've already had their eye on you back in the city...
Liben: *sigh* That's me, Liben, for you! Only the grandest peaks and deepest troughs of life! Anyway, I'm not going back there — not for a while at least.
Liben: So yeah, stay on your toes if you're going to Nod-Krai, and don't let just anyone know that you're holding onto a big bag of Mora.
Icon Dialogue Talk White I'll keep that in mind.
Icon Dialogue Talk White You keep your guard up too, Liben.
Liben: So, I trust that our deal's still on, then?
(Continues to the options below)
(Talk to Liben again)
Liben: Ah, hello there. Need something?
Icon Dialogue BoxOfMarv I'm here for my Box o' Marvels.
(If the player has not collected the daily Box o' Marvels)
Liben: The items needed today are as such.
(Opens Liben's Daily Commission)
(If the player has already collected the daily Box o' Marvels)
Liben: I reckon you've already collected one for the day, friend! Still, feel free to inspect the other boxes. As before, you'll find that I'm no cheat.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Can you tell me about your background again?
Liben: I'm Liben, and once upon a time, I sold curios.
Liben: I've been doing good business recently.
Liben: Before that, I ran the Nod-Krai trade route, hoping to make myself a small fortune.
Liben: But... I'm still here, so I'm sure you know how that turned out!
Icon Dialogue Talk White What kind of business are you talking about?
Liben: Simple. You find me a few basic everyday items, cooking ingredients and the like, and then you trade them with me for a Box o' Marvels, full of all kinds of nice little treasures.
Liben: Keep in mind that I've filled these Boxes o' Marvels with the fortune I made in my time as a seller of curios. There's no booby prizes to be found here, and I treat all my customers the same.
Liben: Why box them up and turn it into a lucky draw, you ask?
Liben: What can I say, people like a gift box. It just makes everyone a little more inclined to get involved.
Icon Dialogue Talk White How do you earn any money like this?
Liben: Hmm, fair point. Perhaps I should explore business opportunities in Natlan next time after all, eh?
Liben: Or maybe hire a few people for protection and make another trip to Nod-Krai, that might work too...
Liben: To be honest, though, I'm getting pretty tired...
Liben: Guess I'll take a break before making any more plans!
(Returns to selection)
Icon Dialogue Talk White Goodbye.
Liben: See you around.

2026-01-05 Dialogue

(Talk to Liben)
Liben: Ah, friend, we meet once more.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Liben, where have you been raking in all that wealth lately?
Liben: Heh, I'm not exactly rolling in it like you think. Honestly, I might've even lost a few Mora.
Liben: I was recently doing business at the Collective of Plenty. Someone took a look at my mushrooms and said:
Liben: "Hmm... They look rather... ordinary. Not like those of the mushroom god's."
Liben: What in the world is a "mushroom god"? And is there some new variety of edible mushroom I should've known about?
Liben: But I have to get home for the Lantern Rite whether there's money in my pocket or not. So, I've been running shorter trade routes recently — Dornman Port, for example.
Icon Dialogue Talk White Ah, Dornman Port!
Icon Dialogue Talk White Oh, Dornman Port?
Liben: It's just north of Mondstadt. Have you not been there before, friend?
Icon Dialogue Talk White Well, someone was holding me back, telling me we'll "explore it later."
Liben: It's a port town built on cargo shipping and flower cultivation. Just looking at it makes you feel at ease.
Liben: There used to be a very famous sanatorium up in the hills there, but it was torn down a few years ago.
Liben: Speaking of which, it's actually kind of creepy. There's a pretty chilling saying about that sanatorium up in the hills...
Liben: They say that "anyone who visits the sanatorium will remain in those enchanted hills forever more."
Icon Dialogue Talk White Because the place is so comfortable that there's no reason to leave...?
Liben: I guess it's not so creepy if you look at it that way. Maybe that saying started because of the fresh air up there, far from all the dust and noise below.
Liben: Hmm, it must be nice to live in the hills.
Icon Dialogue Talk White There are plenty of beautiful mountains and other scenic spots in Liyue too.
Liben: That's very true. But, alone in the mountains, you can't help but worry about things like getting food and water or the risk of being dragged off by wild animals. Especially since no one's really set up the kinds of services needed for a proper retreat yet.
Liben: It really has to be a proper retreat: pay to stay, get a nice rest, enjoy the opportunity to be close to nature. That's the only way one can feel truly comfortable.
Liben: In any case, I'd better get busy since staying at a sanatorium costs money. Looks like it's business as usual for us, then?
(Talk to Liben again)
Liben: Ah, hello there. Need something?
Icon Dialogue BoxOfMarv I'm here for my Box o' Marvels.

Icon Dialogue Talk White Can you run me through your background again?
Liben: I'm Liben, and once upon a time, I sold curios.
Liben: I'm working hard these days to save up for a nice long vacation.
Icon Dialogue Talk White What kind of business are you talking about?
Liben: Simple. You find me a few basic everyday items, cooking ingredients and the like, and then you trade them with me for a Box o' Marvels, full of all kinds of nice little treasures.

Icon Dialogue Talk White How do you earn any money like this?
Liben: They say that everyone in Snezhnaya is tightening their belts, so there should be a business opportunity there or two.

Icon Dialogue Talk White Goodbye.
Liben: See you around.
