The Narzissenkreuz Adventure is the first quest in the World Quest Series Ann of the Narzissenkreuz: Act I - The Narzissenkreuz Adventure.

Steps

Start the quest by approaching the underwater teleport waypoint to the Northwest of the Court of Fontaine.

Gameplay Notes

Ann will stay by the player's side as long as they remain in Chemin de L'Espoir and Annapausis. "Equipment"-type Gadgets can be equipped, but will not visually appear.
Petit Chou will fight alongside the player in step 2 as a Hydro Mimic Finch, but both Petit Chou and the Tainted Water-Spouting Phantasm are immune to Hydro damage and hence deal no damage to each other.
Al will fight alongside the player in step 3 as a Hydro Mimic Mallard, albeit as with the previous step, both deal no damage to each other.

???: The evil minions of the fell dragon Narcissus have surrounded Petit Chou! We must help her!

Paimon: "Petit Chou"...?

"Narcissus"...

Paimon: Uh, never mind these weird names. This seems serious! Let's get over there and lend a hand!

Ann: Thank you! My name is Ann, a member of the Narzissenkreuz Adventure Team. Please, come with me!

Paimon: What is the Narzissenkreuz Adventure Team anyway?

Ann: Hmm? Well, after the Narzissenkreuz Kingdom was conquered by Narcissus the fell dragon...

Ann: We banded together to rescue Princess Lyris and reclaim the realm. That's the basic answer, anyway.

Paimon: That doesn't sound basic at all, but we'll talk about that later. We've got people to save first!

Ann: That's right. Come with me, this way!

Ann: Princess Lyris hid herself away in a high tower and entered a deep slumber. That is why we now name the kingdom "Annapausis."

Ann: Narcissus filled Annapausis with bitter waters. That which we just defeated was an evil being born from those waters, an entity that opposes the Reconquista.

Petit Chou: This time, we attempted to infiltrate this place and rescue the Princess while the dragon was absent. However, we ran into a great many foes, and ultimately, we failed.

Ann: But now that we have you and Paimon on our side, (‍‍), we have nothing to fear!

Ann: Moreover, we have a Princess, a kingdom, and a wicked dragon... Tradition and the stories dictate that we must also have a knight — yes, a mighty and righteous knight like you, (‍‍).

Ann introduces you and Paimon to Al and explains what happened previously.

Al: They are underhanded contraptions powered by Hydrograna that can bombard intruders from a great distance... Perhaps you might have already seen one on the way here.

(If no Bubble Formations have been destroyed)

Al: Ann speaks true. The road ahead will be vastly more perilous if we do not first destroy those Formations.

Jak: Hmph. Kate should have been in charge of eliminating them before we attacked. But it seems that he might have been smashed into seafoam already.

Ann: Don't say that! We should be hoping that he made it — he is our comrade in the end, isn't he?

You have met many members from the Narzissenkreuz Adventure Team and have worked hard to successfully rescue the "Princess." Now go to the "magical fountain" mentioned by Ann, and board the water entity in mid-air.

(Approach the marked location): Paimon: Huh? Is that a... Forest Boar? And an Oceanid... no, Oceanid-person?; Ann: Mori... you're still here.

(Approach Mori): Paimon: Hello!; Mori: ...; Mori: (Sniffs); Ann: Mori, no!; Paimon: ...?; Mori: Woof, woof! Bad people!

(When the battle starts): Paimon: Whoa! Why is it attacking us?; Ann: Mori, don't!

(Defeat Mori)

Ann: Silly dog, Mori! Bad! They're good people!

Mori: Woof, understood. Give paw?

Paimon: Huh. You really are a dog...

You and Paimon shake hands with Mori.
It's a slippery experience, as one might expect of a "dog" made of water.

Paimon: Well, it's an understandable mistake. In this Annapausis, a boar is a dog, an Oceanid is an evil dragon, and the evil dragon turned out to be a statue...

Paimon: Exactly. Ugh, Paimon can feel her sense of what's real or not slipping away the longer we stay here...

Ann: Use these bubbles. The Princess would make these back when she would play with us, and they would fly very high up indeed. We would fly around in those bubbles, touring the realm.

Paimon: Whatever the case, we just need to sit in the bubble, and it'll take us up there, right?

Ann: That's right! In the meantime, I'll do my best to control the bubbles' direction.

Trivia

Jak's dialogue about being "repressed" by Al is a reference to Dennis in the film Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
The series to which this quest belongs contains multiple references to Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and Through the Looking-Glass by Lewis Carroll. In both books, the protagonist Alice encounters creatures who argue and talk nonsensically, much like the creatures the player encounters in this quest.
When Petit Chou talks about how Al said, "A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet," this is a reference to a line Juliet says about Romeo's name in Romeo & Juliet by William Shakespeare.
