Vitruvius is an open-world NPC located in the Desert Pavilion, Temple of Space after finishing the World Quest Unofficial Chronicle of the Desert Pavilion in Series A Long Day in the Mountains: Chapter 1 - Paradise.

Vitruvius is an architect from Sumeru and one of the “Uplifted,” people chosen to be preserved as living memories in the Temple of Space. He lived in ancient Sumeru during the reign of King Deshret, before being uplifted to the temple. Back then, he had some kind of higher status in its society, having a spot reserved in the cemetery of Irminsul trees[1] and King Deshret personally awarding him some special coin.[2]
He was also the one who performed the calculations for the golden ratio for the human figure in fine arts, the "Vitruvian Form", later known as the "Vitruvius's Form."[1]
After being uplifted to the Temple of Space, he settled at the Desert Pavilion. After Asmoday, the temple’s creator, disappeared, the other Shades tasked Venipi with recreating a desert-style complex from memory, as none had been brought to the temple. Venipi contributed patterns and motifs from King Deshret’s era, while Vitruvius designed the layout and pathways, resulting in the present-day Desert Pavilion.[2]
Appearance
Vitruvius is a tall, tanned man with short brown hair and brown eyes. His outfit consists of a blue shirt adorned with a decorative pattern under a white vest with a similar pattern, and loose, tapered green pants that are gathered at the calves and secured with a blue sash. He also wears white sandals, a dark green bandana, and has a water flask attached to his left hip.

- Vitruvius: Finally. Now, I don't have to wonder who that sand in my mouth used to be.
What was your era like?
- Vitruvius: I suppose my era comes slightly after Josephus'. You're familiar with him, aren't you?
- Vitruvius: Still, the history in between remains largely the same. To think that a whole generation could slip by without a single meaningful change...
- Vitruvius: Looking at it that way, my era is nothing more than a Temple of Space, albeit one where everyone grows old.
- Vitruvius: That said, my social standing is far superior to his. After all, I had a spot reserved for me in the cemetery of Irminsul trees.
- Do you have any legendary accomplishments?
- Vitruvius: Actually, the golden ratio for the human figure in fine arts... I was the one who performed those calculations.
- Vitruvius: Somewhere down the line, though, the "Vitruvian Form" became "Vitruvius's Form."
- Vitruvius: Now, countless generations actually believe I was the naked model for that sketch. I've had painters from the later generations walk up to me, look me up and down, and say, "You know, your physique isn't all that impressive."
- Vitruvius: To which I reply, "Because it was never meant to be me!"

- Vitruvius was a Roman architect and engineer during the 1st century BC. He defined the real-life "Vitruvian Form," which inspired the famous drawing Vitruvian Man, to which the dialogue alludes.
