Zhuoxin is an open-world NPC located in Quahuacan Cliff, Natlan. He appears after completing the Archon Quest Song of the Welkin Moon: Prelude - The Journey Home.

Zhuoxin is a merchant from Liyue.
At some point in the past, Zhuoxin went to Nod-Krai to make a fortune. He met Aamu and married her, having a daughter named Adieta. Sometime after arriving in Nod-Krai, Zhuoxin was saddled with debt and took a loan with the Northland Bank to pay it off, but was still unable to pay them back on time. As a result, the bank forced Zhuoxin to serve as a spy in Nod-Krai, which he did over the course of ten years. Although aware of Fatui movement in the area, Zhuoxin claimed to have heard it by chance when questioned by Aamu.
Following instability between the Frostmoon Scions and Fatui, Zhuoxin and his family, along with a few other merchants from Nod-Krai, decided to return to their respective home nations. They were also accompanied by Ineffa, who wanted to look for answers regarding her origins. On the way, they were attacked by Secret Source Automatons, and Ineffa stayed behind to fight them off while she had the rest of the group flee to safety. The merchants hired people from the Scions of the Canopy to help look for her, including Kinich, though they eventually reunited at the crossroads leading to the Children of Echoes. Zhuoxin and his family decided to stay a bit longer in Natlan and were housed by the Flower-Feather Clan. In reality, this was actually an attempt in order to lure Ineffa to some underground ruins as directed by Velimiru. After an ambush which resulted in Aamu being hurt, Zhuoxin went to the ruins and confronted the Fatui over the staged ambush. They asked him to finish the job, but he refused and they prepared to kill him, only to be saved by Ineffa.
As Ineffa activated hidden controls to cover their escape, Zhuoxin sprained his ankle on the rapid descent down. He made a quick recovery and found Ineffa and the Traveler, wondering what was going on, only to be shocked when he learned that the ruins were collapsing. Outside, Zhuoxin was confronted by his wife, who slapped him as a result of his deception. Believing that the Fatui would hunt him down for his betrayal, Zhuoxin tried to part ways with his wife and daughter for their safety, but Aamu refused to let him leave, demanding he come back with her to apologize to their daughter, and his family decided to live with the Flower-Feather Clan for the time being.
In response to the situation in Nod-Krai, the Pyro Archon arranged with the Flower-Feather elders to establish a new harbor in their territory to receive and register the inevitable new arrivals from Nod-Krai. Zhuoxin would serve as a consultant on how the harbor could best accommodate them and their needs.

- Zhuoxin: (Traveler)? It's been a while. I hope you and Ineffa are doing well.
...What exactly are you doing?
- Zhuoxin: After that previous mess was resolved, the Pyro Archon decided to establish a simple harbor here in response to the situation in the north. This way, there's a convenient place to welcome people coming from Nod-Krai.
- Zhuoxin: After everything you did for me, I wanted to face up to my actions and try to do some good... even if it might not seem like much.
- Zhuoxin: So I came here to help people who are in similar circumstances.
- And the Fatui never came looking for you?
- Zhuoxin: The Flower-Feather Clan has been helping me keep an eye out, but it doesn't look like they plan on doing me any harm. I imagine Nod-Krai is already giving them enough trouble.
- Zhuoxin: Or perhaps everything that happened here boiled down to the recklessness of her subordinates, and "Marionette" herself... couldn't care less about it.
