Serena is an NPC on Amphoreus, located in "Eternal Holy City" Okhema. Her location changes after completing Adventure Mission In the Name of Kephale. She also appears in "Fallen Twilight City" Okhema and Beyond Time: An Eternal Page.

Profile

Serena is a young girl from the city of Icatus. At some point, her parents left Okhema and were presumably killed. During Adventure Mission The Girl, the Coins, and Homeland, she steals money from the Trailblazer in order to help fund an expedition outside the city to find them, but is chastised after being caught and convinced to either turn herself in or pick up a trade once she learns of their fate from Lipos.

Depending on the player's choice, Serena will end up in one of four locations being watched over by a guardian: with either Dorian, Ctesiphona, Misia, or Aphrea.

After the events of In the Name of Kephale, Serena will relocate to a couch on the rooftops of Okhema.

In Amphoreus' final cycle beyond the eternal recurrances, Serena grows up and becomes a Priest of the Throne of Worlds. She bears witness to the Trailblazer's awakening during Trailblaze Mission Traverse Stars and Stride Cosmos.

Dialogue

"Eternal Holy City" Okhema

(If Serena is with Dorian)
Serena: Oh it's you, (Mister/Miss)...
Serena: I've been reinventing myself, and Uncle Dorian has been looking after me. Sometimes he even makes me something to eat... It's really yum, and I don't have to go out foraging for leftovers.
Serena: When I grow up, I'm gonna be a guard...
(If Serena is with Ctesiphona)
Serena: Oh it's you, (Mister/Miss)! I'm learning how to read with Miss Ctesiphona.
Serena: I've got a really poor foundation and I'm always mucking up my handwriting, but Miss Ctesiphona tells me I'm very clever, and I'll catch up to an adult's level in a couple of Light Calendar years.
Serena: Should I open up a bookstore when I grow up? But I think academics command a little more respect...
(If Serena is with Misia)
Serena: Oh it's you, (Mister/Miss)! I'm learning how to play the water lyre with Miss Misia.
Serena: My technique isn't great, but I can sing pretty well. Miss Misia wants me to focus on just learning simple accompanying melodies, and focus more on singing and performing.
Serena: Should I become a singer when I grow up? Being a bard seems pretty cool, too...
(If Serena is with Aphrea)
Serena: Oh it's you, (Mister/Miss)! I'm learning how to sew from Miss Aphrea.
Serena: I'm not very good at this at all, and I'm always stabbing myself in the finger. Luckily, Miss Aphrea is a really patient teacher. She's such a beautiful, kind-hearted person!
Serena: Should I become a tailor when I grow up? I'll never be as good as Lady Aglaea though...

(After completing In the Name of Kephale)
Serena: (Mister/Miss), we meet again! Thanks for taking me to see Kephale!
Serena: When my friends at the market heard about what I had been through, they all smiled so warmly. I bet Kephale blessed them, too.
Serena: Now, everyone feels more hopeful about the future of Okhema!

"Fallen Twilight City" Okhema

(After completing Bad Kid, Good Gift)
(First interaction)
Serena: Oh, it's you, (Mister/Miss)... I've learned many new words recently.
Serena: Ctesiphona says literacy improves one's chances of becoming a High Priestess in the afterlife to interpret the prophecy... Though I don't see why edicts need interpreting, I'll still try my best!
(Continue to dialogue options below)

(Subsequent interactions)
Serena: (Mister/Miss), you're here. I don't wander as a refugee anymore – Okhema's my final home. I'll protect it with my own strength.
Icon Dialogue Talk Where are your two little companions?
Serena: You remember them! Yason and Lathena – both rascals behave properly now!
Serena: One stopped worrying about meteor strikes, the other runs around the safe zone helping refugees.
Serena: All thanks to Kephale's prophecy we heard at Dawncloud, right?
Icon Dialogue Arrow Shh— let's keep this secret together.
Serena: Shh— Of course! I'll whisper it only to you: now every adult and child at the market believes I truly heard the sky father's prophecy.
Serena: When they ask "Serena, Serena, when will this end? What should we do?" I say: "Wait peacefully – Kephale will answer our faith."
Serena: That's not lying, is it? Pinky promise – we'll protect the tiny spark of hope in everyone's heart.
Icon Dialogue Talk Hello, little priestess of Kephale!
Serena: Hehe, (mister/miss), that title makes me blush!
Serena: Look, this is the most open place in the whole market. Many people who come to seek shelter in Okhema pass through here. Including... me, who came here from Icatus.
Serena: But now that the apocalypse is coming, many more people want to leave here and seek shelter in other cities.
Serena: I stand here to remind them – fleeing has no end. Better to stay peacefully in the holy city.
Serena: Okhema is the last home we'll protect... and will ultimately shelter us. It must be.
Icon Dialogue Talk What do you think of the "Era Nova" now?
Serena: (Mister/Miss), you worry I think "Era Nova" is just kind guards and you weaving comforting tales for children like me?
Serena: On the contrary – I've realized Kephale's protection never ceased, though it no longer speaks to us.
Serena: Without destiny's mercy, I'd have died in Icatus' black tide. Never reached the holy city, met kind caretakers, nor dared dream of visiting Dawncloud.
Serena: Even hearing the prophecy was sky father's mercy – letting me cradle hope and pass it onward...
Serena: So don't worry! Maybe tomorrow we'll wake to see the sky relit.
Icon Dialogue Exit Keep it up, smart one.
Serena: I will – I'm Serena, blessed by Kephale!
Serena: (Mister/Miss), let's meet again in the new world!

Beyond Time: An Eternal Page

Aphrea: ...It's best to use a back stitch for the edges here. The overlapping stitches will make the patterns clearer.
Serena: And how about this here... Would long and short stitches work better?
Aphrea: That's right! See, you've got real talent! You just need more practice, and you'll get the hang of it...
Icon Dialogue Arrow She's got magic hands. I can vouch for that.
Serena: Ah, it's you, (sir/ma'am)! Come look at my embroidery!
Icon Dialogue Arrow Little Aglaea and little Cipher?
Aphrea: ...Well, I don't quite understand what you were saying, but I'll take it as a compliment.
Aphrea: Although she's my apprentice, I actually think she'd be better suited as a Kephale priest in the future.
Serena: (Sir/Ma'am), you and Uncle Phedes really weren't lying to us! *sniff* The great Titan truly was watching over us... Dad, Mom, and everyone... they're all back... *sniff*
Aphrea: Indeed, what a beautiful new world this is. Back then, I never dared to hope I would meet Vulcan again... Thank you, hero, and thanks to all the Chrysos Heirs... I never dreamed such a reunion would be possible.
Hegesia: Count me in on the thanks! But come to think of it... are Aphrea's admirers also on the "reunion" list?
Hegesia: I heard — just rumors, mind you — that not too long ago, a pair of brother and sister got into a fight over which one of them you liked better...
Ctesiphona: Whoa! This is explosive stuff! Now that's what I call book material! My dear apprentice, I'll treat you to something nice later!
Hegesia: Yay! Then I want to eat...
Aphrea: Cte-si-pho-na—
Ctesiphona: I'm sorry!!! Just kidding, please don't tell my brother! Ahem... Say, (Trailblazer), I was actually thinking of writing a novel with you as the main character...
Icon Dialogue Arrow Really? Are you sure you can write it well?
Icon Dialogue Arrow Talk to my agent about the licensing...
Ctesiphona: What's with that look on your face! All my novels are bestsellers, okay? And this time I'm going for serious literature, so you'd better look forward to it!
Hegesia: I'll help out too! Um... Miss, about that feast...
Ctesiphona: Hey now, don't worry! Once Serena finishes up her needlework, we'll all go together!
