Tamila is an NPC in Administrative District, Jarilo-VI and Astropolis Central District, Astropolis. She permanently disappears from Jarilo-VI upon completion of Adventure Mission Searching for You: Of Snow and Sun.‍^{[Does she disappear before mission completion?]}

Profile

Tamila is a performer at the Golden Theater. Because the director considers her tone of voice ill-suited for musicals, he assigned her Celine as a voice actress to voice over her role, while Tamila lip-syncs.

As of the events of Adventure Mission Searching for You: Of Snow and Sun, Tamila has become a jazz singer after being introduced to the genre at a cultural exchange event, and leaves Belobog to travel with the IPC to undergo training.

Tamila: Don't mind you how? I don't like being stared at when rehearsing.

How do you perform in front off your audience then?

Tamila: Rehearsal is different from the real thing.

Why not use the rehearsal room?

Tamila: I'm just warming up. No need to be fussy.

Do you have a problem with your throat?

Tamila: Yeah, I've been a little under the weather recently. Thanks for your concern.

Just got startled by what sounds like things going through the sewer.

Tamila: Excuse me? I don't remember offending you before. Why are you so mean?

Tamila: *sigh* Despite how rude you are, my voice does sound not good.

Tamila: Since you've heard it already, I have nothing to hide anymore. Yes, it was me.

Tamila: Uh, you look a little strange... You're not some journalist from who knows where, are you? I don't have any exclusive insider information to reveal.

Tamila: As you can probably tell, my voice is rather low pitched. The director is not very happy about that, so the theater hired a voice actress to "assist" me.

Tamila: She is impeccable indeed... but I too was professionally trained. Never missed a day of practice.

Tamila: Now I have to lip sync and act as if in a silent film. I can't help but think that maybe one day they'll get rid of me altogether...

Tamila: What do you think I should do?

Work on your acting.

Tamila: *sigh* That won't do. People come to musicals for the songs.

Tamila: How embarrassing would it be if a musical performer can't sing with her own voice? It's ridiculous! I'll be like thespians who can't remember their lines and need others to read out the script for them.

Why not try acting in a play?

Tamila: Both are theatrical arts, true. But the skills they require are hardly transferrable.

Tamila: Plus, musicals have always been my passion... I don't want to simply give up like this. I still want to give it a go.

Maybe find a project that suits your voice better.

Tamila: I'm afraid it's not that easy.

Tamila: You might not know this, but musical artists only look good on stage for a very limited period of time.

Tamila: Once their physiques change or their voice becomes coarse, they have to bid the stage farewell. They'll call it "spending more time with the family," but everyone knows that's the end of their career.

Did something happen?

Tamila: It doesn't really have much to do with me, actually. You've probably heard about what's been going on, right? The new Supreme Guardian assumed her role, and the Underworld reopened. It's all news that has the city abuzz.

Tamila: Belobog is on the precipice of some big changes, and everyone knows it. I just feel like... It's not only Belobog that needs to change. It's about time for this industry to make some changes.

Do you plan on retiring?

Tamila: No way. I'm still young. My career is on the rise. How could I step out of the spotlight so early? Although there are a lot of hoops to jump through in this industry, I don't plan on throwing in the towel so easily.

Tamila: You've heard the news, haven't you? There are big things happening in Belobog these days. This city is about to experience a transformation... But I think it's not just the city. It's also about time for this industry to make a change...

Tamila: Yeah, I'm taking a break, but I am also privately preparing for a project on top of practicing singing every day...

Tamila: After signing with Interastral Peace Entertainment, they told me that Astropolis could make me a "true jazz artist" and give me the highest exposure in the entire cosmos.

Tamila: It wasn't until I got here that I found out everything from studio rental to mastering costs comes straight out of the artist's own pocket.

Tamila: They call this "market-oriented development," where rookie singers must make money in Astropolis to prove their value.

Tamila: But anyway, are you here in Astropolis chasing opportunities and living out your dreams too?

Tamila: I get it. This city is a star-making machine. Every day, droves of people come knocking, armed with nothing but talent and a dream.

Tamila: And that's precisely why the price tag on "success" keeps getting jacked up, leaving most dreamers unable to foot the bill.

How's work been going here in Astropolis?

Tamila: It's nothing like the artist's life I once imagined. Most of my time is spent drifting from one venue to the next. Upscale restaurants, niche bars, even shopping mall atriums, anywhere that needs background music.

Tamila: To boost sales, I was asked to sing something more "lively," tunes that could actually draw in customers.

Tamila: Half my playlist is saccharine love songs, and the other half is straight-up noisy pop. Guests rarely ask for songs by name. It's usually more like, "Hey, sing something with a little more kick to it."

Tamila: Sometimes, mid-song, I catch myself thinking I'm nothing but a fancy noise machine. Just another piece of decor propping up the city's glamour.

Tamila: But that's just how Astropolis works. Everything has a price tag. I must sell out a part of myself to lift up another part of myself.

Have you been in touch with Celine lately?

Tamila: Of course I have! I've just been swamped with work lately, so I haven't been great at getting back to her messages.

Tamila: Every day, Celine shares the latest updates from the troupe's rehearsals with me. Every word just radiates her passion for the stage.

Tamila: That child has a real talent for opera. There's a fire in her eyes that could never be content staying backstage as my voice artist. Before I left, I gave Celine my wholehearted encouragement to step into the spotlight and perform herself.

Tamila: Watching Celine grow into a leading lady who can hold her own, it warms my heart. But sometimes I wonder... Did I also nudge her down a much harder road in the process?

Tamila: I worry that one day she'll do what I did. Leave home chasing bigger dreams and a grander stage, only to crash headfirst into an even harsher reality.

What are your future plans?

Tamila: Plans? Hmm... Short-term, I want to save up enough credits to rent a recording studio for a day and master the tracks I've already written.

Tamila: As for my long-term goal... I want to see Belobog's snow and jazz truly come together. To sing something that isn't shackled by my homeland's traditions or watered down by the commercial scene here.

Tamila: Sure, regional tracks might not make a single ripple in the wider cosmic market, but you've gotta try, right? Otherwise, what's even the point of me sticking it out as a solo artist?

Tamila: At the very least, I owe it to Celine and everyone else to live up to the blessings and hopes they sent me off with.
