Profile
Adrift Half a Year is a dedicated Bangboo, having spent six months trying to return to its master, but also somewhat reckless, being ready to throw itself in harms way so that others can achieve their goals while it takes the brunt of harm.
History
It belonged to Mediculous, but during a car ride home where he was telling Adrift Half a Year about the new house they would live in, before the Bangboo fell out of the car. During the fall it was damaged and lost some of its memories, leaving it unable to find its master.
During its time searching, it protected a young girl from a dog by throwing itself under the dog's foot and letting itself be bitten. She said she'd take care of the Bangboo and take it home, but it ran away, still intent on finding its master.
Six months later, Sān-Z STUDIO hosted a treasure hunt, and Adrift Half a Year was able to convince Ellen Joe and Phaethon to help it retrieve all of the hidden treasures, in the hope that Yi would be able to fulfill its wish of reuniting with Mediculous. During the hunt, the trio were faced by various obstacles; a Bangboo called "I Want a Golden Battery" challenged it for one of the treasures, as did a dog and a pair of young children. It was also attacked by a cat, and Ruby, who had stumbled upon the event, posted a picture of it on Inter-Knot. After finding all of the treasures the trio returned to get their reward, but after two days Yi was unable to turn up any news on Adrift Half a Year's master. He offered the Bangboo compensation but it declined. Ellen however noted how popular the original photo Ruby had taken had become, and so the three took a picture and posted it, along with a story about their adventure.
Mediculous saw the post, and immediately rushed to reunite with Adrift Half a Year, with the Bangboo finally able to return home.
It was later revealed to Phaethon after discovering a hidden sandpile that the girl Adrift Half a Year had rescued some time before, was responsible for the "trials" it had faced during the treasure hunt, as she wanted to make sure it ws safe, and also to judge whether it was truly resolved to find its master rather than come home with her. The only thing that she didn't play a part in was the cat who attacked it. After a certain point she saw the Bangboo's determination and stopped interfering with the hunt, but pledged to claim the Bangboo if its owner Mediculous ever lost it again.
