Camille

Camille is a commission-exclusive NPC that appears during Phaethon's Story Season 1 Epilogue: Bury Your Tears With the Past (A) and Bury Your Tears With the Past (B).

Profile

Despite being a faithful Exaltist, Camille recognized the faults in Landon's and later Dina's leadership decisions, however put aside those concerns in order to care for Dina, who resembled her long-lost red-haired sister. Upon realizing that Dina was heading down the same path as her father before her had done, she criticized Dina's plan to create a mind-controlled Sacrifice and tried to convince her to move on from her father's death, expressing that it would still be possible for her to live a happy life.^[1]

History

Camille was the sole survivor of her family after a Hollow disaster. She was taken in by the Exaltist group led first by Landon and then by his daughter Dina, becoming a faithful believer in the Creator, while also getting attached to the young Dina, who resembled the red-haired sister she lost in the disaster.^[1]

When Landon tried to give Dina the "blessing", an early version of the Sacrifice Serum, both Vivian and Camille tried to stop him, with Camille physically restraining an armed Landon, who accidentally shot himself in the fight. Despite Dina blaming both her and Vivian for her father's death, Camille took over as her caretaker, assisting her in guiding the Exaltist group while also trying to get her out of her obsession to perfect her father's serum at the cost of human lives.^[4]

Faced with the reality of Dina's folly to attempt to create a mind-controlled Sacrifice, the failure of which would have caused a great-scale disaster and Dina's death, Camille secretly destroyed all the dormant Sacrifice Landon had hidden in Janus Quarter and allied with Hugo Vlad to foil the Exaltist plan.^[5] In an extreme sacrifice to protect Dina and allow her to escape and start a new life, Camille took on the suicide mission to stop the horde of approaching Ethereals, entering a Fissure to face them alone.^[1]
