The Creator
Last updated 2026-08-03
The Creator is a commission-exclusive NPC, and is adored as a deity by the Exaltists.[Note 2] They are not merely an Ethereal or human, but rather a "convergence of countless logics" — an existence both distant yet adjacent.[1] They are deeply tied to Miasma.[2] They are also referred to as Lord of Hope.[3]
Description
Profile
The true form and nature of The Creator is unknown, but they are known to have created both the Karma Cores and the Enchainers as lords of the Great Hollows. They are noted as being an enemy of humanity, and New Eridu's city administration has a strong focus in trying to keep their threat contained, with the Void Hunters focusing their efforts on combating both The Creator and their Enchainers. Due to Void Hunter Weapons being created using Karma Cores, they derive their power from The Creator. As a result, all of the side effects that stem from their usage are also attributed to Them.
The Exaltists regularly invoke The Creator's name praying for refinement as a form of blessing,[4] and their ultimate goal is allowing the descent of the Creator in New Eridu, in order to bring forth a new world with no more conflicts.[5] They are said to personally choose the next Overseer, apparently on the basis of who would better suit Their plans.[6] They have the power to return all things to their true state.[5]
According to Mayor Mayflower, They are probing to find out the true extent of Their own power.[7]
History
At an unknown time, They hid in the depths of the Lemnian Hollow,[8] where Sunbringer found Them and confronted Them, leading to her disappearance.[9]
The night before the fall of Old Eridu, Carole Arna was abducted by one of The Creator's hands while the Helios Academy was under siege by mysterious armed groups and monsters, presumably Exaltists;[10] moreover, They have recently helped the Exaltists to test Elixir P07, which is able to successfully turn humans into powerful entities known as Sacrifices,[11] and later tasked the newly Overseer Sarah, Their most devoted follower, to bring Them the Qingming Sword's power.[8][12]
After the Timesworn Hills incident, The Creator began speaking in to the minds of people who stepped into the Hollow, saying "embrace your true desire" first with a hazy feminine voice, and then repeating it endlessly using the same voice as the listener's.[13][Note 3] They foresaw Ye Shiyuan's plan to destroy Them, and had a wounded Sarah merge with Them to pave the way for Their descent into the world.[14]
With both Youkai and Lockspring stirring Lemnian Hollow to bring Their awakening,[15][16] They created a Messenger using Miasma, Lumite ore, Sarah's body, and Sunbringer's power,[17] which was ultimately defeated by Ye Shunguang, with the aid of Miyabi, Yunkui Summit, Obol Squad, and Spook Shack.[18] During the battle, Helios absorbed some of the Creator's Ether, becoming more active while Phaethon experienced physical pain and began to lose control of their implants. According to the Mayor, They had already created a Messenger in the past.[7]

Notes
- ↑ Exaltists refer to the Creator as They, using reverential capitalization, as a translation of the Chinese 祂 tā, a gender-neutral pronoun used exclusively for deities. This choice is consistent with the terminology used for Aeons in Honkai: Star Rail.
- ↑ This is further supported by the Chinese usage of 主 zhǔ, "Lord", a term typically used to refer to the god of a monotheistic religion, such as Christianity or Islam.
- ↑ Both Moss's notes and the Version 2.4 Teaser imply the voice is the Creator's.

Sarah: Both yes and no. Don't you get it yet? The replication power Yidhari possesses is closely tied to Miasma. Being tied to Miasma, it inevitably carries the Creator's will within it. Even the slightest trace is enough to influence people.
