Avrelian's Mother

Avrelian's mother was a Maiden of the Frostmoon Scions who lived around 600–500 years ago. She was prophesied to bear the Sacred Heir of Elysium, the person who would revive the age of Hyperborea, but she instead eloped with a Snezhnayan soldier.

Profile

For millennia after the fall of Hyperborea, the Frostmoon Scions led a eugenics program to one day have a woman of enough bloodline purity to give birth to a new Moon Goddess, the prophesied heir of Elysium who would bring them eternal prosperity. An unnamed Maiden was believed to be that Scion,^[3] but she fell in love with a visiting Snezhnayan soldier and eloped with him,^[4] escaping Hiisi Island to live in Snezhnaya. She had a son named Avrelian with him,^[5][3] but their lives were interrupted by Rauthvangi, who attempted to abduct her back to Hiisi Island at Archpriestess Lovia's request. Her lover was slain in the confrontation, leading her to commit suicide.^[4][6]

Trivia

• In an alternate timeline that Aila saw, Avrelian's mother successfully bore the prophesied heir of Elysium, but this only brought even more chaos to Snezhnaya.^[5]
