Rika
Last updated 2026-09-07
Rika (Japanese: 梨香 Rika) is an event-exclusive NPC that first appeared in the Event Hues of the Violet Garden.
Location
- During Hues of the Violet Garden
Profile
Rika is a member of the Adventurers' Guild, but accrued too much debt after tackling an S-rank commission. To cover the costs, she took on employment at Yae Publishing House,[2] which led to her first appearance during Hues of the Violet Garden as a sales promoter for Pretty Please, Kitsune Guuji?, wearing cosplay comprised of a priestess outfit and kitsune ears. As a result of her popularity during the event, she continues to work as a light novel promoter while also acting as an adventurer.
In her next appearance during the Event Sunny Summer Fontinalia, she wears her priestess outfit, but not the ears. She mentions having to travel to Snezhnaya, but does not elaborate why.
Rika — plus the ears — makes a return in Great Expeditionist Challenge, where she appears at the first Adventurers' Tournament in Snezhnaya to represent the Inazuma branch.
Appearance
Despite wearing priestess attire and (sometimes) having kitsune ears, both of those are fakes worn as part of a light novel promotional stunt for Yae Publishing House.

Welcome...

Event Dialogue
Hues of the Violet Garden
- (After completing The Strange Tale of Suikou's Tipsy Tincture)
- Rika: Welcome back, Almighty Shogun!
Al... mighty Shogun?
- Rika: Ah. Don't worry about it too much. This is just something they say in the novel.
- Rika: I mean, "Pretty Please, Kitsune Guuji?" is the tale of a loser Shogun and the Kitsune Guuji who can do it all.
- Rika: You know, I did ask Lady Yae if publishing such a novel was alright.
- Rika: But Lady Yae just said "don't worry about it. As long as it sells, it's all good!"
- Rika: And in fact, this book actually sold pretty well.
- Rika: But every time I look at this text, I can only think: our Shogun truly is a forgiving soul...
What's with those ears...
- Rika: Oh, they're just a prop, as is this shrine maiden costume that I'm wearing.
- Rika: Actually, I'm just a part-time employee at Yae Publishing House, and my job this time is to act as one of the characters in the light novel to advertise a collaborative drink.
About the event-exclusive drink...
- Rika: Oh, you mean "Rainbow Aster"?
- Rika: In the novel, this is the drink that the Kitsune Guuji made for the main character — the Shogun — when the latter was ill.
- Rika: It has a most refreshing taste, owing to the addition of Mint, as well as Calla Lilies from Mondstadt.
- Rika: After drinking it, the main character realizes that the Kitsune Guuji was not angry, but was instead being supportive all this time, and so becomes able to overcome a crisis.
- Rika: After the novel came out, Yae Publishing House has received a constant stream of letters from readers, expressing interest in having just such a drink.
- Rika: As such, we've used the occasion of the Irodori Festival to develop this drink alongside Sailing Breeze.
Goodbye.
- Rika: Take care, Almighty Shogun!
Great Expeditionist Challenge
- Rika: Oh, hey there! Looks like we're both in the competition. Are you here to pick up Yae Publishing House's latest novel, or do you want to jump right into the train simulation?
Let's do the train simulation first.
- Rika: I'd only ever read about trains in light novels before. Hope you have fun too!

- Rika: I'd only ever read about trains in light novels before. Hope you have fun too!
Why are you selling novels? Aren't you an adventurer?
- Rika: What, adventurers aren't allowed to sell things? I'm not the only one who does a little work on the side, you know...
- Rika: Adventuring gets expensive fast. With every commission, I burn through elemental potions and all kinds of other supplies. Then I get my reward, add everything up, and somehow I'm still out a few hundred thousand Mora.
- Rika: So what else can I do? Pick up some extra work, sell a few things here and there, and help pay the bills...
Then why keep adventuring if it's such a money sink...?
If Mora's that tight, maybe you should get a regular job...- Rika: Absolutely not. A steady, by-the-book life? I'd be bored out of my skull before the week was over.
- Rika: What I want is to wake up somewhere new every day, meet people I've never met, see things I've never seen, and take on challenges I've never faced before.
- Rika: And for me, being an adventurer is the only way to live it.
- Rika: Honestly, this competition has already been more than worth it. I've made friends from all over, and I've seen so many incredible things here in the land of ice and snow.
- Rika: Too bad I'm hopeless at writing.
- Rika: I'll have to ask one of the editors to help me put together a letter for Souka, our resident deadline dodger. I'll tell her about everything I've seen lately, and maybe she can use some of it for her stories...
Um... your ears...
- Rika: Oh, they're just a prop, as is this shrine maiden costume that I'm wearing.
- Rika: A few years back, I took on an S-rank commission, which left me with way too much debt. After trying this and that, I somehow ended up working part-time at Yae Publishing House.
- Rika: Then my luck turned around. The Irodori Festival was in full swing, so I got dressed up as a novel character and helped promote some collaboration drinks...
- Rika: The promotion actually went really well. Aratani was happy with how I did, and I even got a nice bonus out of it.
- Rika: So ever since then, I've been working myself to the bone for Yae Publishing House. It's the steadiest job I've got.
- Rika: Not that I'm stuck behind a counter or anything, though. I still spend most of my time traveling, camping, and adventuring all over the place.
- Rika: And when I meet people on the road, I recommend light novels that fit the mood. That's where most of my sales come from!
Maybe next time.
- Rika: Huh? Oh, alright... Well, if you ever get bored, come buy a book from me!
Available after completing Paimon's "Driyosh" Way of Solving Problems.
- Rika: Aw... I guess my overall performance was just barely presentable. But once I looked at what we earned versus what we spent this time, things weren't looking too good...
I want to go over the train simulation again.
- Rika: You want to go over it? Sure, sure! We can start right away.

- Rika: You want to go over it? Sure, sure! We can start right away.
I'll leave you to it, then.
- Rika: Take care. I still have to sort through the accounts...
- Rika: Oh no... Why does it look like I'm going to be out another 150,000...?
