Dialogue
On the bounty board at The Flagship, there's a target known for vanishing without a trace after committing numerous heinous crimes. Yet justice demands retribution, and sins must be atoned for. Asking Leszek, an employee at The Flagship, may yield further information.
- (Enter the Curatorium of Secrets)
- (If the player has completed the Hidden Exploration Objective The Flagship Bounty Board)
-
- Jahoda: Hmm... Seems like only yesterday, there were plenty of bounties going at The Flagship — now there's only one left.
- Nefer: Apparently, that's all down to (Traveler). But even (he/
she) hasn't been able to crack this last one. - Jahoda: Well, there really aren't any leads—
- Jahoda: Ah, but... Just because something isn't written on the bounty board, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
- Nefer: What's this — a sudden flash of inspiration?
- Jahoda: I'm going to ask Leszek — with all my experience, I should be able to get something useful out of him.
- (If the player has not completed the Hidden Exploration Objective The Flagship Bounty Board)
-
- Jahoda: There's a particularly tricky bounty at The Flagship with basically no leads.
- Jahoda: The target was attacking people in the north of Lempo Isle, but now he's disappeared without a trace. No one seems to know where he's gone...
- Nefer: Every contact leaves a trace. No matter how carefully someone covers their tracks, in doing so, they always create new ones.
- Nefer: Besides, just because the bounty didn't include any extra information, doesn't mean whoever posted it doesn't have any.
- Jahoda: I never thought of that... I'll go ask Leszek — with all my experience, I should be able to get something useful out of him.
- Nefer: I'll leave it to you then.
- Jahoda: You can count on me, Boss Nef!
- (Talk to Leszek)
- Leszek: Details on the targets are up on the board. I can fill you in if needed, but don't bother haggling over the bounties.
- Jahoda: About the bounty targets...
- Leszek: There are four targets on the board, but we only have leads for three. The first one's wanted for fraud...
- Jahoda: ...Stop, stop, stop! Save me the spiel for the brand new treasure hunters — I could reel it off as well as you. You know who I'm here about.
- Leszek: The Curatorium wants to get involved?
- Jahoda: That depends on how the Boss is feeling. Hmm, how did we arrive at you asking questions?
- Jahoda: Anyway, seems to me the real reason Crackjaw's not been found is the lack of leads. Look at the board. You haven't even said what he looks like.
- Leszek: Well, if these treasure hunters set off without even knowing who they're looking for, well, they're hardly a match for someone like Hark. I don't want some novices wasting their time, much less throwing away their lives.
- Jahoda: Fair point. Apart from the scar on his chin, what else can you tell me about him? Preferably something no one else knows?
- Leszek: Something no one else knows... You're looking for physical characteristics? Like, say, if he had some marks on his back?
- Jahoda: That's exactly what I'm looking for! But how do you know so much about him?
- Leszek: I don't know squat. I never said he actually has any marks... Besides, even if he does, how are you going to see them?
- Jahoda: W—Well, yeah, sorta... *sigh* So, there's nothing you can tell me? We've always worked well together — can't you give me anything to work with?
- Leszek: After Hark revealed his true nature here in Nasha Town, he fled to the north of Lempo Isle and picked up his old life of crime.
- Jahoda: That's old news. Everyone and their dog knows that.
- Jahoda: No one's reported seeing him recently. What if he went further north? I could maybe track him to Piramida, but what if he's made it all the way to Snezhnograd?
- Jahoda: (Nothing but ice and snow up there. I'm not sure if my arm would function in the cold...)
- Leszek: He hasn't. He's still on Lempo Isle — I just don't know where. You can consider that "something no one else knows."
- Jahoda: Huh, how can you be so certain?
- Leszek: Now that's a trade secret — you wanna know, you'll have to pay.
- Jahoda: Hah, stingy! Still, a hulk of a man with a scar on his face... Even on Lempo Isle, they're not hard to find. How'm I supposed to know which one's Hark?
- Leszek: Well, seeing as how we "work together so well," I'll give you some free advice. Don't get too caught up in looking for a scar.
- Jahoda: ...Are you saying, he's found some way to hide the scar on his chin?
- Jahoda: I guess that makes sense. If everyone knows you as Crackjaw, walking around with no visible scar on your face would be a pretty good way to hide...
- Jahoda: In that case, I just need to find someone who's deliberately hiding their jawline, right? It's a lead, at least... Alright, if I find anything new, I'll come back and fill you in.
- Leszek: I'll wait with baited [sic] breath...
Descriptions
The Flagships's exclusive intelligence indicates that Hark the Crackjaw remains hidden somewhere on Lempo Isle. To find him, watch for a large, imposing man who deliberately covers his chin and jaw — likely to conceal a horrifying scar.
