History

Castrum Kremnos is one of the major cities found on Amphoreus.^[2]

Overview

Before Nikador's descent into madness by the black tide, Castrum Kremnos was the city that primarily worshipped Nikador, the Titan of Strife, due to his use of extreme violence to protect the city and bring balance. The culture of Castrum Kremnos was a very battle-oriented society where fighting and strength was valued above all.^[3] As a result, losers were intended to die in battle, and returning to the city in defeat was seen as shameful and traitorous. They would be offered as sacrifices to Nikador to seemingly appease his disappointment.^[4]

Up until the end of the Chrysos War, the city regularly held festivals which were gladiatorial tournaments celebrating Nikador.^[5] According to Mydei, the city's outskirts were constructed by convicts, leading to some areas to be particularly questionable in quality.^[6]

Individual life wasn't valued as much and for those who died, their souls fueled the power of Nikador's Blade of Fury where they continued to fight alongside Nikador.^[3][5] Castrum Kremnos was governed by a king^[7] with approval from the Castrum Kremnoan Council of Elders.^[8] The city was known to be very aggressive and for destroying Aquila's sky kingdom and many other city states.^[3][7]

History

Era Bellica

Castrum Kremnos was founded by King Gorgo and their tribe in the Era Bellica. The tribe originally had followed Nikador during their campaign against the Foundation Titans, engaging in numerous battles against cities and tales of heroism,but after receiving a prophecy from a city devoted to Oronyx, they choose to settle down. They had prepared to gain Nikador's praise when they passed by to fight Aquila, but when their shouts weren't enough, Gorgo took the great lion of Tretos' head and used it hollow skull as a resonator. This caught Nikador's eye, and showing favor to the city, bestowed upon them the Blade of Fury, becoming the centerpiece of the later named Castrum Kremnos, with Gorgo as its first king.^[9] Castrum Kremnos' history is officially regonised to begin in Light Calendar Year 2506.^[10]

In Light Calender year 2523, the Kremnos Arena finished construction.^[11]

Era Erasa

In the Year 4931, Month of Balance, Mydei declared the end of the Castrum Kremnos dynasty, with him as the last king.^[10]

This was because the former king of Kremnos, under the guise of prophecy, threw me into the Sea of Souls as a sacrifice to the Titans. But after nine winters, this body of mine crawled out of the Sea... Even the Reaper themself had abandoned it. About Self: Holy City  ▶ ▶ ▶ ▶ In the past, I never would've thought that I'd join forces with the enemy nations of Kremnos and wage war across the land. Okhema is a prosperous city-state, but... it cannot be a home for everyone. About Self: Future  ▶ ▶ ▶ ▶ Tell the future generations that I shall keep my promise, guarding Kremnos until I spill my last drop of blood. Watch closely. It won't be the black tide that devours me. A spear can pierce through the enemy king, but it cannot resolve the deep grudges of the people. Today, they may have fallen or been corrupted, but as long as one person remains, they will not forget that true death is not "death" itself, but abandoning one's honor.
