Sizzling Thunder

Sizzling Thunder was a rock band based on Emerald-III, described in the Relic Set Band of Sizzling Thunder.

History

The history of Sizzling Thunder begins at the end of Emerald-III. With the sun of the planet's star system dying and threatening to explode, many tried to flee. This included the parents of a girl named Janis. But rather than flee with them, she donned her mom's sunglasses and opted to face the destruction of her home head on and returned with other "like-minded youngsters," attempting to prove that the existence of her home would never perish. And thus, Sizzling Thunder was founded.^[1]

Fans of the band could not afford the cost of escape, so waiting for destruction was their only option. The band drew in people from all over the star system, united in their hopelessness. Fans would cite the the electrifying thunder of Dave's guitar as the only light in their lives.^[2] For every concert tour, volunteer fans would make and hand out wristbands to everyone entering the concert. Sid, the bassist, would collect these wristbands, which his girlfriend then wove into a bracelet he would wear all the time.^[2]

Once the surface of Emerald-III became unbearable, Lead Guitarist Jimmy took the band underground in a literal sense, and their fans followed. Around this time, David printed a White Dwarf Star on the back of his jacket as a nod to their sun's eventual fate and proof of the star's continued existence.^[3]

With the surface a desolate wasteland, resources were scarce. Therefore, the band made all of their albums from discarded X-ray films.^[4]

Eventually, the surface cooled and the remaining residents of Emerald-III returned to the surface. During the final concert of the Thunderclap tour, the warning signs of the electromagnetic storms from the impending supernova were present. Lighting jumping along the scaffolding. Sparks leaped under Bonham's boots. In the end, the band was engulfed in thunder and lightning, leaving behind a legacy.^[4]

After the events of Trailblaze Mission chapter A New Venture on the Eighth Dawn, the IPC reported on the recent destruction of Emerald-III and the farewell tour of Sizzling Thunder. With the final performance over, the Garden of Recollection began working to preserve the memories of the band's last tour. To express support for recovery efforts across the universe, the Garden shared those memories with the many worlds participating in planetary revitalization projects.^[5]
