History

Blaze is an event-exclusive NPC who first appeared during the Chronicle of Simmering Flavors event. She is the owner of Simmer Hot Pot Restaurant and a friend of Pan Yinhu^[2] and Nangong Yu.^[3]

Profile

Blaze manages the hot pot restaurant "Simmer," taking major responsibility in procurement of fresh ingredients, preparation procedures, as well as taste testing their various dishes every day to ensure their taste is of the utmost quality. After escaping from a hollow incident, she suffered from ether corruption which required her to take corresponding drugs to maintain her health. Unfortunately, the anti-corruption medication she was taking damaged her sense of taste, leading to what tastes fine for her being way too salty, sweet, or spicy for regular customers. It also caused her to become hot-tempered towards customers, and reckless with accepting challenges.

Etymology

Blaze's Chinese name, 辛味 Xīnwèi, means "pungent flavor", from 辛 xīn, "Spicy, pungent" and 味 wèi, "taste, smell," as a reference to the spiciness of her restaurant's menu.
