Overview

The Simmer Hot Pot Restaurant is a popular sit-in restaurant located adjacent to Lumina Square's river that sells various hot pot dishes. Over time Simmer has gained notoriety for two things: the lines outside the store and the spiciness of their food. It is managed by a woman named Blaze, who is usually busy managing other branches of Simmer.^[1]

During dinner time, customers usually wait around two hours for a table, with lines stretching around the block. A popular form of relaxation for customers is to get a reservation ticket and then have a massage therapy session at Old Duyi's Physiotherapy Studio, allowing customers to fully focus on the flavors of their meal.^[2]

The spiciness of their food is a notable part of their brand, from the selling of spicy beef as an ingredient, to their specialty soup base being dubbed "Hotter than Heaven" which is stated to be 'super-duper spicy' by an employee. The Simmer Hot Pot Restaurant has a notable variety of bases and ingredients, including a set meal called "Warm Affection" made for couples, it includes A serving of beef and lamb, a portion of beef meatballs, squid balls, vegetables including tofu, lettuce and potatoes, and an extra serving of noodles. The restaurant also offers self-serve sauces and condiments for dipping, these include sesame paste, fermented bean curd, chive flower, dry spice mix, sesame oil, and satay sauce.^[3]

The Simmer Hot Pot Restaurant recently opened a branch in Waifei Peninsula; however, it received notably less buzz than Lumina Square's establishment did on its opening. This is likely due to the people of Waifei not being into spicy food, along with the dining atmosphere not feeling authentic to the area.^[1]

Due to the positive exposure from appearing on Infernal Connoisseur — as well as investments from the show's former host, Stephen — Simmer has recently gained newfound popularity.^[4]
