Adorno

Last updated 2026-09-09

Adorno is a quest-exclusive NPC who appears in Lohen's Story Quest, Lepus Miles Chapter: Act I - A Knight's Legacy. Known as the Benevolent Knight, he was the Captain of the 5th Company of the Knights of Favonius. Adorno served as a knight in a semi-retired capacity up until his death.[1]

Profile

Adorno joined the Knights of Favonius and was responsible for saving Lohen and Theodore from Eroch and Dottore's clutches. He was upset that he had been unable to discover his experiment site nor resolve Lohen's trauma over the incident. The incident also caused Lohen to gain an interest in gaining power, and when he revealed to his parents that he had joined the Adventurers' Guild, they called Adorno over to try and dissuade him. Instead, Adorno told them that once let go, they could no longer stop it, but could adjust its path. He also explained about Varka's strength to Lohen, which caused him to become obsessed with taking him down.[2]

Over the years, Adorno began to grow weak from old age, and Theodore, not wanting him to die, managed to rediscover the experiment site and Ursa's flesh, using it in small quantities to improve his health. Nonetheless, his old age and injuries meant that he was unable to participate in Varka's expedition to Nod-Krai. When the expedition returned, he tried to ask the returning members about the events, but no one had given him a clear story until Lohen had returned. Nonetheless, the serum began to fail over time, and believing his time was near, decided to give his title to Theodore and position to Lohen. Theodore refused to let Adorno die and tried to perfect the serum, only for one of the corrupted monsters to escape and fatally injure him.[3]

Realizing the truth behind his longevity, Adorno managed to track Lohen and Theodore to the experiment site just as the Traveler, Varka and Diluc arrived. Accepting his death, he begged them to destroy the monsters and Ursa's flesh. Shortly after reinforcements had arrived, Adorno passed away from his injuries and was buried at the Favonius Cathedral. As punishment for their actions, Jean refused Adorno's will, meaning that Theodore would not inherit his title and Lohen would not be his successor. Lohen accepted the punishment, feeling that Adorno's title should not be sullied by someone unworthy such as himself.[4]
