Liliuo

Liliuo is a quest-exclusive NPC that first appears in Archon Quest Pilgrimage of the Return of the Sacred Flame in Chapter V: Act I - Flowers Resplendent on the Sun-Scorched Sojourn.

Profile

Liliuo is a veteran warrior who once fought alongside Atea against the Abyss,^[2] which strongly suggests that she is also an Ancient Name bearer.

When the Traveler observed a Pilgrimage of the Return of the Sacred Flame, Liliuo partook in the event, eventually coming face-to-face with Kachina. Liliuo was initially unimpressed by her opponent, believing that, due to their differences in age and experience, Kachina would be found lacking in a fight and was further cheered on by her supporters. Kachina, heeding the Traveler's advice, exploited flaws in Liliuo's tactics and defeated her in the match. Liliuo accepted her loss, admitting that she had underestimated Kachina and believed she had potential in the future.^[3]

Despite being from the Masters of the Night-Wind,^[4] during the Pilgrimage in the Natlan Archon Quests, she ended up representing the People of the Springs.^[2]

Following the events of the Natlan Archon Quests, Liliuo has retired from the Pilgrimage to become an adventurer. She recruited Mondstadt adventurer Valerina to her team, and they have completed several S-rank commissions as of the Event Homeward, He Who Caught the Wind.^[5]

During the event Great Expeditionist Challenge, it is revealed that Liliuo is now one of fifteen S-rank adventurers. Many details about her life are also revealed. During the great war, she "only" managed to take down 300 Abyss monsters. She felt great shame over this, and it apparently affected her day-to-day life to the point that Citlali noticed and brought her out of it with a stern talking-to. With a new goal in mind, she started taking combat commissions from the Adventurers' Guild. As of late, she has been teaching the younger adventurers at the Guild her combat techniques, while learning all sorts of tips on adventuring from them. Liliuo and Kachina are on good terms, with Kachina teaching her dance steps by the Children of Echoes, and she highly respects Kachina.

Appearance

Liliuo has short, blonde hair. She owns a Cryo Vision that she wears on her left hip.

The outfit and gear she wears are that of an Iktomisaurus Warrior: Cryocrystal Cannon — a specific class of Sauroform Tribal Warrior from the Masters of the Night-Wind, though her mask covers her entire face rather than leaving her mouth exposed. Her Saurian Mask accordingly bears the visage of an Iktomisaurus.

• Liliuo was one of the characters that attended Atea's hot spring parties in the past.^[6]

Etymology

• Liliʻuokalani was the last queen of the Kingdom of Hawai'i. Lili'u means "stinging pain" in Hawaiian.
• Ixquimilli means negligent and lazy in Nahuatl, and is the name of the deity of frost in Aztec mythology, Ixquimilli-Itztlacoliuhqui.
