Prune/Storyline

Last updated 2026-08-22

Prune, who calls herself Witch Hunter, is a child from Nod-Krai currently in Mondstadt searching for revenge on Alice.[2]

Profile

Personality

Prune has a rebellious personality, seeing the people of Mondstadt with disdain.[2][3]

In spite of her appearance and age, Prune is surprisingly mature and intelligent; this is in part due to her parents confining her at home when she was in Nasha Town, causing her to spend time reading books instead. She even suspects Albedo of not being human, finding him too "perfect."[4]

Appearance

Prune uses the short female model. She has pale skin, purple eyes with star-shaped pupils, and short indigo hair.

History

Prune originally lived in Nod-Krai and became acquainted with Alice there. At some point, she felt antagonized by her when she took her imaginary friend Descartes away (though Alice claimed he was on the verge of disappearing) and decided to get revenge by heading to Mondstadt to search for the Hexenzirkel mages, believing they were up to no good. This was intended by Alice so Klee could make a new friend, as everyone else was busy with other errands. Prune left just before the Traveler arrived at Nasha Town,[5] travelling with Dori's caravans on her way to Mondstadt.[6]

There, Prune met Klee and befriended her, seemingly unaware that she was the daughter of the person she was looking for. They would spend time drawing graffiti on various houses at Millhaven, though they needed to scrub them before they could get caught and thrown into confinement. Klee suggested blowing the walls up to avoid cleaning the inerasable crayon, much to Prune's horror.[7]

Not knowing of Mondstadt's customs and traditions, Prune was mistaken by the nun Philomena to be an orphan down on her luck, who was unaware of Nod-Krai's fashion. She insisted that she was not hungry, no longer a child and that her accessories were a design element and not a patch-up job.[8]

She also believed she had tracked down Barbeloth and that she was trying to gather materials for a "forbidden" age-reversing ritual. Instead, she had confused her with her apprentice Mona, as Alice told her that "Witch B's" name was Megistus, leaving out the "tris" part. Mona explained that it was her family home that she rarely visited, but Prune believed otherwise and demanded she come out and reveal her associates. Mona gave up arguing and reported Prune to the Knights, who arrested her as she was trying to pick the house lock and was later picked up by Albedo.[3] Once she realized the truth, Prune apologized to Mona, who accepted her apology.[9]

Prune also wrote another note at Millhaven, accusing Alice of stealing her life companion and other supposedly heinous acts. This was not well received by the locals, of which one asked her to stop using black ink as people believed there was a curse and it was a pain for the owner to remove. Another person familiar on the matter sent a message to her from Sara asking her to stop hogging a table at Good Hunter while ordering one drink, as others wished to dine. Another comment, presumably from Kaeya, suggested she go to the Knights of Favonius Headquarters for cavalry reinforcements for her mission. The Traveler has the option of ripping down the notice, after which Prune discovers it and wonders if one of the witch's minions had done so.[2]

Learning that a Hexenzirkel camp was setting up in Inazuma, Prune departed to stop the witches' influence from spreading. Instead, she discovered that the "witches' camp" was actually the Little Hexenzirkel that had been created by Klee, joined by Qiqi, Yaoyao and Sayu. Prune could not find herself to hurt Klee's feelings, though the trip ended up with the group helping Hyakujitsuhaku Shion with resolving a nightmare issue that had affected Popcorn. After seeing Popcorn and Homura reconcile, Prune thought about herself and Descartes, only to realize that she had forgotten her original objective and broke down as she explained her original intentions. The Little Hexenzirkel embraced Prune until she stopped crying. The Traveler then explained that the Little Hexenzirkel was formed after Alice's challenge to her, and with the group willing to help her catch the Hexenzirkel, Prune accepted their offer and joined the group, much to her embarrassment. Just then, Descartes arrived, and Prune was delighted to see him once more before noticing the groups' imaginary friends, running off with the rest of them as they went to play.[1]
