The Lost Void is a game mode accessed through the Hollow Zero menu.

Introduction

Hollow Zero is the largest and most influential giant Hollow in New Eridu. You will assist and support the investigation and suppression actions of Hollow Zero as an officially recruited Independent Investigation Team.

Requirements

You can start the Lost Void series of quests after completing the Agent Story "Mole in the Hole (I)".

Gameplay Objective

Proxies can experience different special effects brought by Gear and Resonium within the Lost Void, continuously enhancing the Agent's combat ability, exploring various combat styles, and obtaining rare rewards.

Gameplay Rewards

  • Exploring the Lost Void will yield Shadow Crystal Data, which can be used to increase Investigation Progress and obtain more rewards.
  • Completing the weekly limited-time Bounty Commissions will reward you with generous rewards.
  • Completing tasks in the Exploration Log will grant corresponding rewards.
  • Rewards for Lost Void and Withered Domain can be claimed up to 45 times every week, after which Regular Rewards cannot be obtained anymore.

Gameplay Modes

The Lost Void includes six modes: Special Operation, Battlefront Purge, Task Force Investigation, Operation Matrix, Perpetrator Battle, and Shadow Operation. Special Operations is a special Story Mode, Battlefront Purge, Task Force Investigation, and Operation Matrix are seasonal combat modes, while Perpetrator Battle consists of battle stages focused on showcasing Agents and their Gear, and Shadow Operation consists of operations set in unique environments.

Battlefront Purge

  • The Battlefront Purge mode is divided into five different difficulty tiers. Completing any high-difficulty tier directly grants the first completion rewards of the preceding tiers.
  • This mode includes special buff effects, which refresh weekly with the Bounty Commissions.
  • After completing Difficulty 5, the Ether Activity system will be unlocked. Activating different modifiers will significantly increase the difficulty of Battlefront Purge, while also granting more Shadow Crystal Data.
  • This mode also includes the Power Adaptation system, where the Agent's level, Skills, W-Engine, and Drive Discs will be enhanced under specific conditions. These enhancements are effective only within the Battlefront Purge mode.

Task Force Investigation

  • In this mode, Gear, Store, Resonia, and Events will all undergo changes. Complete this gameplay with designated Agents to earn bonus rewards. Agent Missions can also be unlocked in Task Force Investigation. Complete them to obtain bonus rewards.
  • The Defense Force has undergone updates for existing Character Exclusive Gear and now have new Tactical Prism Programs for independent investigators. In a single Task Force Investigation run, you can unlock corresponding Tactical Prism Programs for multiple Agents. During investigation, you can also unlock branch programs and enhance combat capabilities. General Gear has also been updated with the Mobile category.
  • Shops will have a special product under Prime Zero. Refer to Prime Zero to purchase Gear or Tactical Prism Programs.
  • You have a chance to obtain a special Resonium series, Suction Welding Torch, which can directly upgrade corresponding General Gear to max level.
  • New content has been added to Encounter areas. At the same time, the mysterious help events that you can encounter in Combat - Resonium and Combat - Coins have been updated.
  • After going into Task Force Investigation, you can start a Marathon area challenge at the Investigator. Completing the challenge can give an additional Tactical Prism Program level-up reward.
  • You will encounter enemies with the Miasma effect. After completing certain events, obtain special Miasma Resonia.

Operation Matrix

  • In Operation Matrix, Proxies will explore Hollows in different environments. In certain explorations, Proxies can obtain initial supplies;
  • In Operation Matrix, a 4th Agent is now available. This 4th Agent is an Auxiliary Agent and will not participate in regular combat alongside your 3 Primary Agents, and nor can they activate the Primary Agents' Additional Abilities. Proxies can summon Auxiliary Agents during Hollow exploration using Auxiliary Assist;
  • Auxiliary Agents can only be selected from a designated pool, and only trial characters may be used. Upon selecting your Auxiliary Agent, you will also receive the corresponding initial Auxiliary Gear to start off with;
  • During Hollow exploration, you may also obtain Auxiliary Gear from other Auxiliary Agents, though the Auxiliary Assist of these other Auxiliary Agents will not take effect;
  • General Gear and the Resonia and Cards of corresponding factions will no longer drop;
  • Combat Potential does not apply in Operation Matrix;
  • Obtaining initial items in Exclusive Supplies does not unlock them in the Collection system;
  • The 9 Specialties of the Week are:
    • Floating Leverage: During exploration, Gear Coin earnings have a chance of increasing dramatically, along with a chance of losing your initial capital. Carrying more Gear Coins dramatically enhances Agents' ability.
    • The Bill Comes Due: This run only has one floor, with progressively harder challenges in each area. At journey's end, the mysterious 'Avengers' will reveal their true identity!
    • Compound Interest: Start with a large number of Gear Coins. If you haven't spent any by the time you leave the Bangboo Store, you will earn additional Gear Coins based on the amount you currently have.
    • Candle in the Wind: In battle, Agents' Max HP cannot exceed 30%, and DMG taken is increased by 50%. However, all Agents gain stronger buffs.
    • A Matter of Relativity: The enemy appears to have been loaded with Combat Potential by accident. The supply stations can only provide you with temporary supplies, so explore with caution.
    • Scarlet Craving: Agents can recover HP based on DMG dealt. Bangboo Store Zones and Friendly Talk stores now accept HP as currency, and offer one chance to exchange Gear Coins for HP.
    • Mist-Filled Corridor: Subtle changes have occurred within the Hollow: Certain Mist Areas are present, with unpredictable conditions. The map is also malfunctioning, rendering it unviewable.
    • A Costly Trap: Increases Gear Coin earnings during exploration, but all Gear Coins will be deducted upon leaving the Bangboo Store. Additionally, the more Gear Coins spent on collectibles at the Store, the lower the initial HP of enemy units.
    • Harmony Above All: At the start and on Floors 2 and 3, and at the start of the Friendly Talk area, Ray will provide one set of Patchwork Defense, Trace of an Old Friend, and Electrostatic Phenomenon.

Perpetrator Battle

[Introduction]

  • Perpetrator Battle is split into two Challenge Modes: Frontline Patrol and Task Force Assault.

[Frontline Patrol]

  • Each Agent has two challenge difficulty levels: "Low Activity" and "High Activity". As the difficulty increases, enemies will grow stronger, and the requirements for completing the challenge will also become more demanding.
  • Before entering the challenge, the Defense Force will provide Gear and Resonium support, and each Agent will receive additional "Tactical Enhancements" to buff them.

[Task Force Assault]

  • Each Agent has three different challenges: Assault Mission I, Assault Mission II, and Assault Challenge.
  • In Assault Mission I and Assault Mission II, the Defense Force will provide two different sets of Tactical Prism Programs and Resonium support. Each Agent will additionally receive a Tactical Enhancement.
  • In Assault Challenge, the Defense Force will provide further support for harder challenges.

Shadow Operation

  • "All roads lead to Rome." The designated enemies are already stationed at the destination. Now, choose your scenery for the journey!
  • In Shadow Operation, explore specific environments in the Hollows, with some explorations providing initial supplies to the Proxy;
  • First clearance of each stage rewards 4000 Shadow Crystal Data, with an additional 4000 Shadow Crystal Data reward for first completion of the cycle, which can complete weekly Bounty Commissions. (First clearance rewards are one-time only; no further Shadow Crystal Data rewards will be awarded after initial stage completion);
  • [Combat Potential] does not take effect. In Shadow Operation, [Exploration Collection] cannot be unlocked, and achievements from the Tactics - Lost Void tab cannot be completed.
