Paimon: Paimon didn't think we'd find a cave here...

(Enter the cave)

Paimon: That tent... Does someone live here?

Paimon: Huh, and he's even lit a torch!

Paimon: The torch hasn't gone out yet... Looks like he hasn't gone far...

(Approach the tent)

Paimon: Hmm, there's no one in the tent, but not much snow buildup either...

Paimon: Who would even come here, anyway? How strange...

Paimon: What's this? An adventure notebook?

Paimon: "The blizzard plastered itself to my face like a mask, almost sealing my eyes shut. I could not find the homeward way, let alone a path to the House of Hesperides..."

Paimon: "Fortunately, I was able to find a cave to avoid the storm, but my stocks of food are bottoming out... Perhaps I should never have... No. No. This is a trial set before me. It must be."

Paimon: "I must reach the mansion and meet the great lady... I must witness true Prime Ice artisanship."

Paimon: "But how will I get out of here? Perhaps I can continue to explore this cave first..."

Paimon: "Hmm. I think I've gotten used to the temperature in here. Everything's starting to warm up just a little..."

Paimon: Whoa, is this person okay? Seems like he's frozen so bad, he's starting to hallucinate.

Well, he did warm up, didn't he?

Paimon: Come on, you know that feeling warm in a snowy place like this is the last thing you wanna have happen!

The situation does seem quite serious...

Paimon: Yeah...

Paimon: According to his notes, he's proceeding through this cave... Let's go on ahead as well. Can't be sure if he can still be saved, though...

You find notes left behind by someone who was lost in the snowy mountains... Is he still alive? Is there still time for you to save his life...?

(Continue deeper into the cave and arrive at an opening with a small camp)

Paimon: Look, (‍TravelerThe player's chosen name for the Traveler‍), there's a lamp over there. Could it have been left by the person who wrote the notes from earlier?

(Continue onward)

???: Help... Help me... Ohh...

(The camera focuses on a ledge up ahead)

Paimon: Paimon hears a voice. I—It came from over there. Let's climb up and see!

(After melting the ice)

???: Hey... Don't... Here...

Paimon: Don't worry! We're coming to save you!

(Approach the person kneeling on the ground)

???: Oh no! I—It's going to collapse—

(Further approach the person)

(As the Traveler approaches the kneeling person, the ice around them collapses)

(The Traveler, Paimon and the stranded person fall through and land on top of an ice floe)

Paimon: Good thing we didn't fall straight into the water...

???: Ohh, b—be careful... This ice block's starting to move...

Paimon: Don't worry, we'll get you outta here.

(Approach a Prime Ice block up ahead)

Paimon: (‍TravelerThe player's chosen name for the Traveler‍), that Prime Ice block's, well, blocking our way!

(Pass the second group of Hilichurl Shooters)

Paimon: Watch out... Uh, why are there Hilichurls with bows and arrows here...

(Approach the small waterfall)

Paimon: The water ahead... Brace yourself! W—we're heading downwards now!!!

(Slide down the waterfall)

Paimon: Whoa, the water's flowing faster now!

(After clearing the fourth Prime Ice block)

Paimon: Oof. Looks like the water's moving even faster now...

(If the ice floe hits a Prime Ice block)

(The floe platform cracks slightly)

Paimon: Oh no, if this floe platform takes a couple more hits...

(Approach the meltable ice block blocking the way)

(The camera focuses on some nearby monsters guarding an Exquisite Chest)

Paimon: Uh... why is there an Abyss Mage here!?

Paimon: But what's that next to them? Is that... Kresnik Kristall?

(After melting the ice block)

???: W—watch out... T—the floe is moving again...

(Approach the end of the stream)

Paimon: Ah, there we go — a place to dock...

(The Traveler, Paimon, and the stranded person make their way to shore)

???: *panting* ... Oh, Tsaritsa be praised... Scared me to death there... If I'd fallen into the water, that would've been the end of me.

???: Thanks, you two. I'm Martos... Sorry...

Paimon: Why are you apologizing?

Martos: ...I wanted to tell you that that block of ice wasn't at all solid, but I just... couldn't get the words out while I was up there. I can't say why.

Paimon: Eh, you were probably just feeling a bit too weak, y'know? Anyway, feeling better now?

Martos: Yes, much better. Thanks to you two, to be honest... Um, might I know your names?

You introduce yourselves to Martos.

Martos: (‍TravelerThe player's chosen name for the Traveler‍) and Paimon... I see.

Paimon: ...That said, Martos, what brings you here at all, out in the ice and snow?

Martos: Prime Ice Sculpting. That's what I came here to learn...

Paimon: Prime Ice Sculpting?

Martos: That's right! *cough* I was headed to the House of Hesperides. Its owner is the princess of the Snegovik, one exceedingly skilled at this art...

Martos: Many a masterpiece was created by her hand, even the snowflake at the heart of the Zapolyarny Palace plaza and the sculptures made in the likeness of crystal ores that stand before the ducal mansion of Novokitezhgrad...

Martos: Humans cannot call upon Prime Ice as the fae do... but we can learn to use hammer and chisel to bring forth similar beauty.

Martos: Thanks to you two, I'm one step closer to the mansion!

Paimon: Wait, you're still going up the mountain, then?

Martos: Well, I'm here already, aren't I? It would be such a shame to turn back now...

Paimon: But...

I won't stop you from continuing on, but wait for the blizzard to die down a bit.

Make sure you rest up before you leave, alright?

Martos: Alright, I will.

You help him start a fire here and give him a share of your food and water.
