Yalyane Morevna (Russian: Яльяна Моревна Yal'yana Morevna), also known as the Knyazhna (Russian: Княжна Knyazhna) of Blood, was a princess of the Snegurochka who lived thousands of years ago.
Profile
Yalyane Morevna was a female Snegovik who lived prior to the unification of Snezhnaya by the Belyi Tsar. She was the grandmother of the first Grand Duchess of the Snegurochka and is said to have had a close relationship with the Belyi Tsar himself.[1] Pavlina, the latest Grand Duchess, considered Morevna an ancestor of the Snegovik.[2]
Story
Yalyane Morevna is said to have been a survivor of Hyperborea. Unlike the later Snegurochka, she was known for the extraordinary savagery with which she slaughtered countless fae clans, earning her the title "Knyazhna of Blood."[1][3]
She later became openly associated with the Belyi Tsar, whom she taught the art of the spear and who went on to call her his teacher.[1] During one of their training sessions, she told him of a spear she had once seen in Hyperborea that was capable of harming the Heavenly Principles. Her account inspired the young Tsar to continue his training under her.[3] In time, he took his leave of her and set out upon his travels.[1]
Afterwards she likely lived among her kin at the House of Hesperides, where she is said to have once taken in humans and granted them her protection against monsters.[1] She also passed an instruction on to the Snegovik: "The one who leads the Snegovik must have a complete soul." Later, this instruction was followed when Larisa was chosen to become the new Grand Duchess.[4]
Eventually, Morevna vanished without a trace before Belyi Tsar founded Kitezhgrad.[1] Having witnessed the production of rifles, the Tsar realised the powerful spear she had referenced wasn't the kind to be "thrown" at all.[3]
