Arrow of Terpikeraunas

Last updated 2026-06-29

The Arrow of Terpikeraunas is a giant mechanical cannon located at the Lightkeepers' base in Piramida. It is a historical relic of the Hyperborean era, classified as a "low-tier" Mekhaneikos device. Its purpose is to turn Light Realm energy into a solid projectile, which can then be fired at Abyssal contamination to purify it.[1]

Up until 500 years ago, the Arrow was in the Frostmoon Scions' possession. Aila bequeathed it to Solovei, and it has presumably been in the Lightkeepers' possession ever since.[2]

Overview

Alongside the SAMPO, the Arrow of Terpikeraunas was a Mekhaneikos device developed during the Hyperborean era as a way to purge Void Realm Energy contamination. After the fall of Hyperborea, the Frostmoon Scions under Acting Archpriestess Spargapiris were able to recreate it.[1]

By the time of Saredne, the 13th Archpriestess after the fall of Hyperborea, the Frostmoon Scions had come to revere Hyperborean relics as religious objects rather than practical ones, and their understanding of its inner workings were greatly simplified. For example, Saredne describes the relic as being made of "pure light," used to "snuff out the pitch-black foe." The ointment used to lubricate the Arrow of Terpikeraunas is described as an "offering" and is given an elaborate recipe.[3]

500 years ago, Aila gifted the relic to Solovei, and successively the Lightkeepers, to help them dispel the Abyss.[2][4] Solovei's sword, the Spiralblade, was meant to be the ammunition of the Arrow of Terpikeraunas, but it had since gone missing.[5][6]

Eventually, the Spiralblade would be rediscovered by the Traveler and the Lightkeeper Illuga. They returned it to the Arrow and fired the Spiralblade alongside a massive beam of energy at the Cataclysm Egg on top of the Pillar of Embla, destroying it and Rotwang along with it.[5][6]
