Dialogue
- Linnea: So this is where you usually stay? It's so spacious! This is making me jealous.
- Linnea: If only I could use the "abode" arts of the Liyue Adepti on the Golden Beagle...
How do you like it here?
- Linnea: It's great! I don't have to worry about the wind or rain, or where my next meal is coming from — and the scenery is amazing! Thanks for inviting me.
I'm glad you like it.- Linnea: Hehe, you're so nice! Can I ask a teeny tiny favor, though?
Ask away.- Linnea: Is it okay if I set up camp here? I'll find a spot that's out of the way.
Huh? So... you don't like your room?- Linnea: No, no, no, it's lovely! Everything's so comfy and cozy, the bed's warm and dry, and it smells nice too. It's so much nicer than the rooms at The Flagship, I'll tell you that...
- Linnea: It's just... Ah, well, they say it's easy to go from rags to riches, but much harder to go back again.
- Linnea: If I get used to this life, I'm worried I won't be able to return to living off the land...
- Linnea: What if I find myself dreaming about this fluffy bed while I'm deep in the mountains? I'm not sure I could cope!
- Linnea: For someone like me, I think it's best to maintain a healthy hunger for the finer things in life.
- Linnea: That way, I can make sure my senses are sharp while never losing the drive and excitement to pursue what I want.
- Linnea: For me, that's the crux of living.
I see, so that's your survival strategy...- Linnea: Indeed! So, if it's alright with you, I'd like to set up my own camp somewhere out of the way.
- Linnea: Out of interest, have you ever stopped to listen to the music of the night? The nighttime wilds are far from silent, and thickets that appear like shadows are actually hives of nocturnal activity.
- Linnea: Some insects only sing when moonlight bathes the stage, chirping and chiming one after another as if following some mysterious tune.
- Linnea: Listening to them sing is fascinating. If that sounds like something you'd like to hear, feel free to drop by my camp sometime.
- Linnea: Or we can just lie there and gaze at the stars. That would be nice too...
- (Unlocks at Friendship Level 4)
Do you have time for a chat?
- Linnea: Sure. Found anything interesting on your recent adventures?
I found some more treasure chests...
- Linnea: Oh, that's wonderful! For us adventurers, there's no better way to pay the bills than finding a chest or two!
- Linnea: Take me. If I relied solely on my income as a consultant for the Adventurers' Guild, who knows how long it would take to save up for my own research vessel...
- Linnea: However, I have to be careful when opening chests to make sure Lumi doesn't swallow whatever's inside.
- Linnea: I really don't know where she picked up this habit of swallowing every shiny thing she sees.
- Linnea: Though come to think of it... There is a legend about Crystal Beetles that says they started carrying solid Phlogiston around as a way to make themselves stand out...
- Linnea: So maybe the reason Lumi swallows shiny things isn't because she's hungry...
- Linnea: ...But rather because she's collecting decorations, hoping to wear them one day and be accepted by the other Jack Frosts.
- Linnea: I'll make sure to feed her more next time! It's just a few chunks of ore, after all. As long as I keep finding more chests, I can always replace them later.
I explored some more ruins...
- Linnea: Ruins that rarely see visitors tend to develop their own unique ecosystems. They're truly fascinating places!
- Linnea: That said, the traps and monsters inside aren't quite so charming...
- Linnea: Things like Primal Constructs and Secret Source Automatons aren't much of an issue, but Clockwork Meka... Ugh, just thinking about them sends shivers down my spine.
- Linnea: The Fontaine Research Institute is such a terrifying place... To think they created so many of those things, all with their own different functions...
- Linnea: But I must admit, the dance of Coppelia and Coppelius is truly captivating, like watching a performance on the stage... though I made sure to enjoy it from a distance.
So, do you prefer the Icewind Suite or Knuckle Duckle?- Linnea: Knuckle Duckle, of course! It's so much cuter, and can even handle basic conversations. Besides, if pressed, I'd say it's not entirely without its practical applications.
- Linnea: But most importantly, Aino invented it...
- Linnea: What are you laughing at? So what if I'm biased towards my friends?
- (Unlocks at Friendship Level 7)
Is there anything you'd like to do?
- Linnea: If you don't mind, I'd quite like to record my discoveries here in my encyclopedia.
- Linnea: When I was chatting with Tubby earlier, she even gave me a feather. Hehe...
Well, if Tubby's okay with it...- Linnea: Oh, don't worry, I already asked! I always make sure to get permission, as long as the subject is someone I can talk to...
And what if they're not?- Linnea: W—Well, in that case... I guess I'd figure it out on the fly?
- Linnea: Come to think of it, the times I tracked that Rishboland Tiger and those water birds in Sumeru were really dangerous...
- Linnea: Rishboland Tigers are highly territorial, so I set up camp some distance away from its den to allow for easier observation.
- Linnea: Apparently, the fur on a Rishboland Tiger's temples allows it to measure distances. I wanted to verify this claim... but unfortunately, I got a little too close.
- Linnea: Racing a Rishboland Tiger through the jungle really isn't something I'd recommend, hehe...
- Linnea: If it weren't for a passing Forest Ranger coming to my rescue, I might not have made it out alive...
- Linnea: But thanks to that experience, I also learned about a special rainforest fungus whose spores are the bane of the Rishboland Tiger.
- Linnea: And with that, another page was added to my encyclopedia. So, I guess you could call it a blessing in disguise!
I guess... but how did chasing after water birds land you in danger?- Linnea: Well, it wasn't the water birds themselves that were dangerous, but rather the environment they live in.
- Linnea: Lumi and I were in a small boat watching them build nests in their wetland habitat. They would pick up floating twigs and branches to use as nesting material.
- Linnea: But clearly, besides us, there were other animals that had figured out their nesting habits.
- Linnea: Those floating branches were actually traps. These other animals would wait for the water birds to wade out and pick them up...
Oh, so there were Spinocrocodiles... I shouldn't be surprised.- Linnea: Exactly! A huge Spinocrocodile suddenly leaped out of the water, and the waves it created almost capsized our boat.
- Linnea: That noise alerted other Spinocrocodiles nearby, and somehow, they ended up deciding that Lumi and I would make even better prey...
- Linnea: Luckily, they're not as agile on land as they are in water. Once we made it to dry ground, they stopped chasing us.
- Linnea: So if you're ever planning on going birdwatching in the wetlands, watch out for the dangers in the water too!
That's certainly a valuable lesson.- Linnea: Right? I don't want to toot my own horn, but my lectures for fresh-faced adventurers are really quite popular.
Have you considered turning them into picture books?- Linnea: Those little educational picture books for kids? I've never considered that before...
- Linnea: But it's not a bad idea! The children in the Conch Gang can't get enough of my stories. Maybe I have a special talent? Hehe.
- Linnea: Besides, if I can get published, the royalties would go a long way...
- Linnea: Yeah! There's no time to lose... Let's get started right away!
- (Between 6:00 and 19:00)
Good morning, Linnea.
- Linnea: Good morning! I've already been for a walk with Lumi. You should give it a try too, it really clears the mind.
- (Between 19:00 and 6:00)
Good night, Linnea.
- Linnea: It's been a long day, and it's time for some rest. We need to be fully charged for whatever adventures tomorrow may bring!
- Linnea: Good night, and sweet dreams!
Special Dialogue
When a character is invited to or invites themselves to their favorite set for the first time, the character will provide a reward. They will provide a reward for each of their favorite sets.
Inviting them to the furnishing set again will replay the dialogue, but no further reward will be given.
A Comfy Room for Guests From Near and Far
- Linnea: It was quite a shock when I first left the Conch Gang to strike out on my own.
- Linnea: Leaving such a lively collective to live all alone, it was hard not to feel a little lonely... Thankfully, now I have Lumi, hehe.
- Linnea: By the way, don't tell anyone in the Conch Gang I said that. I don't want them knowing how uncertain their old boss was.
Wilderness of the Far North
- Linnea: Wow, every plant and tree here is like an old friend. I couldn't feel more at home!
- Linnea: On childhood adventures, I never strayed too far. I would imagine Thornback Geckos were colossal dragons and play with them while wondering why their spines glowed.
- Linnea: Thinking back on it now, perhaps my curiosity with all things great and small began back then.
